Boy do I ever feel sorry for this kid. The poor thing could be that desperate to drive her family out of the cult, who knows?
If, I say if, its not gossip and she is looking for love in all the wrong places the worse thing they can do is shun her.
this is what is happening in a spanish congregation in our area.
this happened 3 weeks ago.
this brother conducted the school and after the school was over, another elder gave the announcement: "( name of the person) is not longer a jehovah's witness".

was i dreaming that he posted here a few years ago?.
len.
our families have cut off contact with us for the last several months.
they found out that we were celebrating holidays with our non-witness family.
our families were our last tie to the organization, as our former friends stopped associating with us about 3 years ago.
as i mentioned last week i'm a covert fade.
it dawned on me that i had the watchtower bible and tract society in my will.
i just changed it.
She's afraid to rip the band-aid off and I'm afraid not too. I don't want the kids indoctrinated any more than they already are now.

hello people.. i'm tired and a bit sick at the moment but i can't let anyone think that this is going to go away.... i am able to tell you a few things in order to prevent any confusion in the minds of those who are thinking that nothing will come of this arc;that nothing will effect the wtbts in america and other places.. i have been there and given my testimony.
helen milroy and her assistants were there along with another group of people who are there to lend assistance if you crack up at any time during or after the hearing.
i did not crack up but can see how this happens.. security is tight and anonymity is sacred to them as they want to protect all who come forward.
when i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.
I was counseled by the bookstudy conductor (PO) for bringing my handicapped nonwitness brother to a book study picnic and his wife was offended by his behavior. Hey, min; you rock!!!
Every so often you hear people say that JW's are not Christians - THIS is the sort of behaviour that proves them correct. You wouldn't find that kind of ignorance or cruelty in a prison.
so as many know....ive been df'd goin on 19 years already.
i drive pops to meetings, and drop him off on saturdays for fs.. well yesterday, the elders ask to speak to me, and tell me that if i plan on returning to jehovah, i had better shave my beard off..
omg!!!!!!
Way to get their priorities right!
Sheeesh.
"mad puppy..we are so proud to see you forfilling your Christian duty of caring for your aged parents ...in view of the Christian spirit we observe in you every week without fail we would be delighted to welcome you back to the congregation dear brother!!"
But naaaahhhhhh...Jesus can't see through the gotee!!!
first i want to say happy new year to everyone here including you lurkers!
i was able to get away with my whole family for xmas and new years up to maine away from everything.
i mean everything and it felt great.
I agree with OrphanCrow and JookB that Blood is the no. 1 dangerous doctrine. Many deaths result in this obscene, confused and petty test of obedience . Death can never be undone OR forgiven by the victim, which is why it sits way above all other issues. Child abuse sits at no 2 for me. In this I include all forms of abuse - sexual, physical or corporal punishment through to the cruelty of insisting kids sit through unsuitable, inappropriately violent or sexual Old Testament talks with threats of violence should they be unable to keep still/awake etc. I also include in cruelty the relish some JW's have for saying NO and depriving kids of fun like birthday cake and gifts or school Xmas performances. Another form of child abuse is the constant threat of withdrawal of parental love should the child not 'perform'the JW role to approved standards.
I agree that unquestioning obedience to the slave is a prerequisite to all the dangerous doctrines on the list but I'm going for the current specific and potentially changeable doctrines - as of course without obey the slave doctrine, well, the JW's would cease to exist!!
this has been a controversial issue among doctors and medical ethicists.
i think it basically comes down to the fact that physicians have a responsibility to establish the presence of informed consent.
is it really possible for a person to give informed consent if they are not accurately informed?.
I remember years ago having haemophiliac witnesses taking blood fractions in the form of factor 8 and I would always wonder if they knew how much blood had been donated to manufacture that stuff. I feared explaining it to them in case they refused treatment . JW always have so many visitors as a rule and I would drive them away if my patient was having factor 8 in case any of them made trouble. Back to the op....are doctors aware of UNDUE influence???? And the absolute RUBBISH jw spout about how many deaths are caused by transfusions etc...here's an example of the sort of out of date misleading info Witnesses are given/proliferate on the blood issue..any REFUTATIONS to the last one would be very welcome...
Using faulty and misleading information, enemies of Witnesses claim that "thousands" have supposedly died because of refusing blood, yet how does this compare to the millions who have died from being given blood in the same period of time?!
The facts show that there is absolutely no proof that anyone has ever died because of refusing blood.
"The bloodletting of yore has been superseded by blood transfusion. Of all the ridiculous medical practices of the past and present times, this present blood craze is the worst." - -Dr. G. Boni and Dr. P.Lafarge, "Let's Live", March 1970

"Initially in the acute stage the exact fluid chosen, provided that it is not positively harmful, is relatively unimportant. Later, once the circulatory volume has been expanded, the specific requirements for a particular case must be taken into consideration."--Anaesthesia, July 1968, p. 416.
i was listening to beyond belief yesterday, a radio 4 programme that treats religious ideas as worthy of consideration and discussion.
yesterday they were talking about belief in the afterlife.
they mentioned something i'd never heard of before.
