  this evening at the clam the job video was played and then the stupid peer pressure video.

  this was not so odd.

  however on the last elijah section pictures from the imitate their faith book was place on screen to imagine the scenes.

  If you want to be reinstated you've got to expect this, whether its a genuine shepherding call or a " checking up on you" call - I don't understand why you are so shocked. Either way you are gonna have to bite the bullet and see them at some point if you want the reinstatement kiddo!

  Question for those still attending the Kingdom Hall

  this a question more out of curiosity, because we have not stepped foot in a kh in 3 years.. how is the attendance at the meetings/assemblies?

  i know the answer will vary due to location.. are you (especially elders) receiving any notification or communication from bethel or co's that there is an upsurge of people that are simply disappearing or out right dis associating?.

  Well,doubtfully yours I agree with you at least they are enjoying life....I believe its the only one we'll ever have so even though I want people to wake up if they DO stay dubs I would rarther they enjoy their lives...just sayin'!

  Yes you are right Juandefiero, I have been checking out that website ...its a jewish leap year and they add an extra month. Its the 15th that must fall on or after the equinox..thats where they got that bit of mis-information I read.

  However, the Watchtower is WRONG that modern Jews dont celebrate on the 14th like Jesus did...they do..its essentially two celebrations on the 14th AND the 15th..the following explains why....

  The Passover lamb was SLAIN "AT EVEN" (Lev. 23:5) -- Josephus shows it was essentially between 3-5 P.M. of Nisan 14. Then it had to be taken home from the Temple, put on a spit, and cooked -- roasted -- for hours. Therefore, the Passover meal was EATEN, and CELEBRATED, at night on Nisan 15. The Jews have always known this.

  When Scripture says "they kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at evening," (Num.9:5), it is referring to the fact that the lambs were SLAIN at that time! But since you cannot slay and eat at the same time (unless you ate it raw!), you must add to that time of slaying the time needed for preparation, cooking, and eating, which must of necessity be several hours later -- or on the 15th.

  I think the Borg count Nissan 1st as the sunset after the full moon NEAREST the spring equinox, whereas the Jews begin Nissan as the full moon AFTER the spring equinox...hence you have such widely differing dates this year no??

  Why ExJW's should care about the FBI vs. Apple encryption case

  many people that don't keep up with technology news are, at best, vaguely aware that apple is fighting a court order to create a tool for the government to unlock one of the san bernadino terrorist's iphone.. what the fbi is asking for could jeopardize the security of all iphones.

  besides the obvious possible slippery slope leading to governmental abuse of this technology they're asking apple to create, there is a more personal reason for many exjw's to be concerned about.. anytime you create a weakness in information security, there is always the possibility of that weakness being exploited.

  sometimes, those weaknesses are difficult to exploit, sometimes they are easy.

  Even more worrying is the fact that the Borg routinely promotes and uses Apple products - how about they themselves checking for " moles" or any dissenters inside the org this way.....

  I agree Great teacher skills can be taught but how on earth can pensioners afford iPads for goodness sakes??

  Sail away your post is so incredibly sad. He believes he has done the good " Christian" thing all his life, it must make you so angry for your poor kids and grandson though - oh how those GB have a WORLD of suffering to answer for.

  Same for the OP....elders or no, they are just so much materiel to a soul-less organization that makes a multi- national look compassionate towards their retirees.

  That's so funny...one of my friends was the first tinky winky for years....6 ft 4 inches hairy dude with glasses carrying his pink handbag! WTBTS were right tho....he lost the job for moonlighting as a naked balloon dancer!!!!!
