Good story Esse quam videri, Bless him...sounds like he missed it. I knew an old elder who fought in the Mau Mau war ( Kenya in the 50s) . He used to reminisce all the time....told me the greatest danger were the baboons, they would hunt lone humans...fall from the trees above...he saw them tear a man limb from limb. They deleted him as an elder for alcoholism, he was always drunk but very red faced so unfortunately it was obvious. Nice guy. I think he suffered from PTSD.

this bro who was always full of himself come along and wanted to be let in i said we were under strict instructions not to let anyone in before 730. he kept trying to talk me around and failed so he said " do you know who i am "?

Suspicious Attitude Toward Married Brothers...

it seems that younger married brothers are viewed with a certain level of suspicion in the congregation.
it's like the elders can be friendly with everyone in the hall including younger sisters.

Is it true that voting is now considered a "conscience" matter? If so it makes me wonder if the lawyers have advised them to make it so. To order otherwise would be contravening basic rights.
I studied law as an undergrad and whilst what you say makes a lot of sense, I worry that when it comes to shunning they will claim it's an individual's personal right TO shun others...or not "associate"(hate that word) with others if they choose to do so.They will insist they do not compel anyone. We know they do, of course. We understand "undue influence"....Will the law?What does anyone think?

Even though the witnesses have got the age of man utterly, completely wrong it still amazes me what a short time we, as homo sapiens, have been around. And when you look at these items, as old as they are, it really is amazing what a tiny amount of time we have had any kind of civilization. Compared to the great age of the Earth, how long the dinosaurs ruled the earth etc etc Its interesting that the bible writers dated man's time on earth as about the same as written history has been around, or nearly so.
Anyone else's mind gets blown by how short our history is?
