Anything that's not available on their CD Rom. They can always claim that anything in pdf form is altered by apostates, so a hard copy as evidence is essential. If someone is ready to wake up, things that wtbts wrote in the past *can* be hugely important as evidence of ttatt.
You could offer them for sale or free If postage is paid as many exJW collect them for that very reason.
What books do you have if you don't mind my asking?

This religion puts our kids in danger by forcing them to live a double life and making them vulnerable to the unscrupulous who appear to proffer help.

Lawsuit Settlement Amounts
by Richard Oliver ini have a legitimate question and i am not trying to start a fight.
i keep reading that there were 6 child abuse lawsuits that settled for 13 million dollars.
how do people like barbara anderson or jwsurvey or jwfacts come up with this number?
-
Diogenesister
Richard does it really matter what the exact amount is? The fact is Watchtower has settled many cases with ( I'm sure to everyone here) what are large sums of money. Whether it's 500,000 or 50,000 per person doesn't really matter in my view. The fact they did so speaks volumes.

Was this elder full of bs again regarding the complete wt library online?
by Wakanda inthis is my first time making an o.p.
an elder told me that he had access to a website online that had all the old bound volumes and books.
also, he made sure to say it was not an apostate website, but a 'legit' website made by brothers.
-
Diogenesister
You can access them all at avoidjw.com. Obviously this is not a site maintained by "in" jw's but all the old Watchtowers and books are there and most of the old Awakes I think. The only "legit" as he calls it he site is the online Watchtower library at me.org. It only goes back as far as 19i0 I believe for obvious reasons. It's the same as the CD Rom you can obtain.
Welcome by the way. Also have you checked out exjwreddit?Another great resource.

Huffington Post: When Is A Religion 'Extremist'? [Food for thought!]
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/when-is-a-religion-extremist_us_590de8e3e4b046ea176aeb98.
tim rymel, m.ed.. governments who support āreligious freedomā over the equal human rights and dignity of others condone, and even endorse discrimination.. 05/06/2017 11:27 am et | photo ā flickr/ justin kern .
government endorsement of any religious ideology creates religious extremism.

he seems intent on sprinkling the word "extremist" through the article and never quite explains how those who believe they are the only true believers are extremists.
She makes it very clear that extremism stems from the *belief* that God has given *your* human religious leader a revelation that you and have the only true religion - that those who do not identify as belonging to your belief system and live by your " revealed" standards are inferior, "less than' human beings deserving of death and destruction. As she says, "any religion that denies the *value* and humanity of others is extremist".
Witnesses absolutely deny the value of others and their "othering" behaviour in any other context but religion would be considered highly offensive and downright illegal in many instances.
Their belief's lead to behaviours and although at present it is only dangerous to themselves, think blood doctrine and suicide due to shunning and sexuality, that definitely places them squarely in the extremist category imho.

10 Questions to annoy Jehovah's Witnesses
by TerryWalstrom inwe are sick with sin and weāre trying to get well, right?
2. when you hire a coach to get you to the playoffs and win the big game, yet you lose...lose...lose.... do you fire him, or, do you keep him on?
well, then, how do you explain fred franz being made president after the 1975 fiasco?.

"At times explanations given by Jehovahās visible organization have shown adjustments, seemingly to previous points of view. But this has not actually been the case."
Steve I know that google-de-gook off by heart - the infamous " tacking" article, Watchtower lst December 1981.
Brilliant post Terry as always.

Old School Effects and CGI
by LoveUniHateExams ini was just thinking about old school effects and cgi (computer generated imagery) in film.
first off, cgi is certainly an advancement in technology, in what can or can't be portrayed on screen.. my knowledge of films and film-making is by no means extensive.
it's just i feel that sometimes film-makers rely too much on cgi, assume that more cgi = better film, or assume it's better to use cgi in every instance.. take a nightmare on elm street (1984).

Interesting LUHE!
As a Walking dead fan we all love Greg Nicotero's 'mechanical' or I guess you'd call it handmade special effects. Time and again the cgi in TWD is a huge let-down *and* big budget eater and we are unanimous is saying forget the cgi unless there is an over arching need for it in the story line! I think TWD has learned its lesson this season and even Shiva the tiger combined the puppet makers skill with robotics ('animatronics') and some cgi.
The skill of effects guys like Nicotero still beats cgi hands down every time imho.
Edited to add: I do appreciate that some films that demand detailed shots of, for example, WW2 submarines in action as per Dark spliver's Union effects cgi is obviously necessary *and* impressive, though.

The real reason Chelmsford hasn't been stopped
by Saltheart Foamfollower ini haven't seen this mentioned yet.
last year in the uk, shortly after the money grab that everyone had, we had a video and letter (both probably still available from atlantis) appealing for money for the new bethel and slips were handed out etc.
this means that most uk congregations are sending a regular donation specifically for the chelmsford build.

Former brother There is a misconception that JWs dont like education or further education. This is simply not true.
The truth is JWs are very much pro education, they just think nowadays university is a waste of 4 or so years, its a missalocation of time.
Have you actually watched these jw broadcast. Cedars latest review (31) featured songs, diatribes and re-creations all encouraging "yung wunz" to avoid college and Pioneer. Even cong letters warn people not to go to college to learn a skill useful to Bethel.
If you think they want kids to avoid 4 years at uni only because its a 'waste of time' youre kidding yourself - they have always criticized higher education because they don't want anyone learning critical thinking, the ability to think for oneself and spot the logical fallacies the org employs again and again in their propaganda.
It's never been about 'time' or 'association'. Both of which arguments, by the way, are equally fallacious. Now more than ever a good education is essential and better lifetime friends are made at college/uni than the conditional jw 'friends' who are taught to 'mark' and shun for wearing the wrong trousers.
