The truth is Witnesses are like anyone else - they can be victims of crime and perpetrators of crime.
Witnesses are not more protected by a God/or angels neither are worldly people .infested with demons

there is a mixture of reports and accounts coming in..... two jehovah's witnesses (and fleshly sisters) aged 71 and 65, where found murdered.
a 26 year male suspect has been arrested.. in the apartment where the two where found dead, the words "death to witnesses" (“muerte a los testigos”) had been scrawled onto one of the walls.. he killed them because they expelled him from the jehovah's witnesses - canal de noticia, nov 28, 2017. .

Why the move to Warwick?
by optimisticskeptic ini've seen a lot of posts around and about warwick and the goings on there but was curious as to people's theories on why the move to warwick?
granted there's the obvious point about all of the money from the sale of properties in brooklyn but for as massive as warwick is, the purchase of an apartment complex there, multiple sites and buildings i would be surprised if they had much left from all of the profits.
so beyond a financial incentive why move?

I Remember........
by pontoon inwhen my mom first started to study in the 1960's the first kh and congregation we went to was a big open room over a grocery store.
i remember in the 1970's having circuit assemblies in rented facilities the local brothers would arrange for.
i remember three regular accounts, donations for the society, donations for the local congregation/kh, and the literature account.

Good point. Your not rambling at all. I think it's the central question we all want to know.
That it has become a corporation the main purpose of which is to make money seems obvious on the outside looking in. As a believer that would seem shocking, indeed absurd.
Once you become fully awake you wonder Is, or was, there humans controlling the Org for nefarious purpose, and if so at what point did they gain control? Or has it always been thus?
Or, and this I'm more inclined to believe, has the body corporate taken on a life of its own, the workers all being the famously put " captives of a concept"?

I do think 9/11 would have affected them. I understood some of the old guard didnt want or were not sure it was the right thing to do, isolate themselves and move from the place they had been very successful. I got the impression, and I may be wrong here, that 9/11 pushed them into seeing a move as an option. Let's face it they experienced the whole thing and it must have frightened them.
As far As I know when they started to plan the move money wasn't an issue...or was it? Does anyone know if they started planning before the slump???

clarification given: "moving forward any elder, ms, or pioneer who themselves or someone under their roof enrolls in higher education, may no longer qualify for privileges in the congregation.
their qualifications will have to be reviewed by their boe.".

Are Beards becoming more acceptable due to decline in membership?
by UnshackleTheChains ini noticed a young brother with a beard being given more privelages within our hall.
when he first grew his beard, he lost his privelages.
but more and more recently he has been helping out a lot more.. the cobe is old school and a stickler for rules, but with the hall becoming more empty these days, and the need for young brothers, he seems to have relaxed on this particular watchtower/man made rule.

I knew a brother who got hell for a very messy beard - but since he was baptised with it ( 70s)he said he was going to ruddy well keep it!
Its funny because his wife full time pioneered, he had an angelic family and he himself was an aeronautic engineer and pilot who could turn his hand to anything so he was always in demand. A modest man he point blank refused to take on any" absurd title". The ones that *should* be elders are the ones who don't want to be.
