Hey Wakey Jo-Ho my best JW friend baptised jw sister appeared in hustler - she's quite popular on the vintage porn sites by all accounts. She was DF after that of course, but was already awake. I can pm you her name if you like. She woke up at university, and she went by her married name any way so it won't reveal anyone's id. Her parents *never* shunned, thank goodness, and her mother would always say to me " I don't understand this arrangement because there's something good about that girl"

She was totally right, of course, because she really was/is a special person.

Actually the chart isn't too far off, there is a third group of anointed, that co-incide with your third group in position except they're not - yet - part of "this generation".

We shall see if all that changes in about 40 years, when i'm pretty sure they replace the current one with yours!

Light Bringer Secondly, as a whole, the UK is 800% more densely populated than the US - even the whole of England EXCLUDING London, is more densely populated than the WHOLE of the US (including New York State, but excluding New Jersey and Rhode Island) - but this means that people in the UK are MUCH LESS willing to travel.

This makes a whole Lotta sense...I always chuckle to myself when American ExJWs talk about over weight dubs, or the cost of "gas". I've certainly never done field circus in a car in the UK, and imagine its pretty uncomman. Hence British jw's are a pretty slim bunch usually (walking or cycling being one of the few benefits of being a jw in Britain).

Edited to add: we do drive to meetings, tho.

Do our Scottish cousins do field service in cars out of interest?

Anxiety, OCD, Hoarding, and the JWs

i'm noticing what seems to be a higher incidence of the above among the local jws than in the "general" (read: worldly) population.

i don't say this lightly, my wanderings around the fringes of jw society locally is revealing an alarming trend here.

the poverty doesn't help (there are good jobs, but you need a degree or qualifications to get one).. anyone else see this?

LoL !! Amazed she didn't make you take them off!( although that fashion is quite a modern thing in the west, come to think of it)

Spiral I think it may be cause and effect in that poverty tends to turn you into a hoarder. Also age-related poverty does, too. Pensioners, knowing they have no chance to go out and earn, tend to do this - and the jw's are definitely an aging 'population'.

Well...It's 2018 and still no ''Armageddon''

1974 : my mom, my brother and i were all baptized after all the convention talks and watchtower magazine articles that 1975 would likely end this system of things.

1999 : being told that the year 2000 was going to mark the 6 thousand years of mans existence and that the 1000 year kingdom in the new paradisewould come in the year 2000.

The funny thing is that Tight Pants Toni is literally saying " I am He" in that the Governing Body AKA F.D.S. tell the flock that unless they are anointed they must go through them ( or be associated with) to get to Jehovah, so literally being Jesus to them.

Hi Fade to Black, Am I correct in thinking the Polish exjw's have been very organized and extremely impressive in their protests recently? ( we saw some footage). Could that have anything to do with the decrease in numbers? Or is it a symptom of the drop? I know my old area has 2 thriving Polish congs ( England) but as we know, those that emigrate are more vulnerable to Watchtower conversion.

thats my question.

i mean because here in brazil there's a huge ban in any religious content that doesn't come from the gb, and that includes songs, of course.

thus, it doesn't matter how beautiful or touching a gospel song is, you will never see a brazilian jw singing (not for real, in front of others) or even lesser quoting it.

Sam Herd just loves to " deadpan" his jokes...it's actually pretty common in our culture.

But singing, or saying " oh happy day" would have been tantamount to apostasy when I was in. A shame, mind you, I always rue the fact we lost out on so much beautiful, particularly religious, music. All because Rutherford wanted to be different, our children loose out on their musical heritage. It makes me so angry, and sad.

Child abuse

i was talking to a jdub yesterday about child abuse in the organisation and this was his response:.

"it has been known for kids to make stuff up.

we have to trust the society on these things, also the legal process is there.

the organization isn't perfect. We are made up of imperfect people that error at times. Don't hold an organization to a perfect standard. The abusers are exposed in time and removed from the org." Really? Completely clueless. Keep drinking the kool aid.

I love to say, " But don't all churches, all organizations, say exactly what you've just said? Make exactly those same excuses? Just think about that for a moment".

There is literally nothing in this world a dub hates more than to be just like everyone else."
