i think it's closer to 5 million with all the selling of kingdom hells and branch bethel's all over the world.

it's even hard to get a hard copy of the lastest craptower or afake mag now in new york city..

Yes I think as Slim and TruthBKnown have noted, I think that it would depend how you define a JW. In terms of people who believe to a lesser or greater extent, it’s the ‘truth’? I think there’s definitely 8 million.

If we’re talking how Watchtower defines a JW, attends most meetings and submits a FS report every month? I would say that number is less than they claim...at least in the North Western countries. However unfortunately I’d say many whom watchtower would term inactive still contribute financially.

Ive got an O scale flying Scotsman and a smallish set I’ve built up from childhood.

Dad was big on them. When my parents argued and he took out the big guns it would always be “I sold my railway set for you!!!”(to buy their first house lol)I’ve been to the Brighton expo they hold once a year for model rail enthusiasts although my kids were more into the Daleks lol.welsh steam railway

of course we love the Ffestiniog railway!

If you go to Kim & Miley's channel she has a photo of Massimo dressed as Dracula! I'm not sure they're academics that study the myths and legends associated with the count & I'm guessing they're really fans of the book but he definitely belongs to the look her end of "fan-Dom" & takes it to another level of 'belief'!!

we don’t get many invitations to congregational social gatherings.

we don’t attend midweek meetings and miss about 1/3 of sunday meetings.

we go in service at least once a month.

There was an elder on the same street doing the same thing as me and he took three years . His house looked like a frat house with all the people coming and going. He is 60 years old. Stupid.

Although to be honest I'm glad he has a Home for his old age. Remember when he's 70 the org "won't require his services" and, especially if he gets sick and struggles to attend meetings, you'll see fewer and fewer visits.

I don’t know any JW, or anyone else, who thinks that Jesus “made an announcement” that God’s name is Yahweh/Jehovah. This guy says it’s an absurd idea. He’s right, it’s absurd, but who actually thinks it anyway? Pretty bizarre clip.

No he's saying that (I assume) witnesses are Jesus "foot step followers" - yet always say first and foremost they come to make gods name known to people (& it is kind of the first thing you're taught).

Yet he's saying it's ridiculous because everyone knows gods name and always has done.

That's why he makes that absurd analogy...its stupid! If they purport to follow Jesus example, It's therefore stupid for witnesses to do it.

One of the guys that now co-authored the 'expert opinion' in defense of Dutch JW also flew to Japan (all expenses paid) to defend the Aum Shinrikyo cult that killed 13 in the 1995 sarin gas attacks in the Tokyo metro. His 'expert opinion' then was that they could impossibly have done that,

I mean really, what is an "expert opinion"??

If I'm being really honest, as long as you are "niche" enough (Vietnamese lesbian laundry workers uprising of 1978 etc) anyone (with the cash not to work for their period of study) could get a PhD in sociology.
