Why did Silvio need those elders “to begin providing him with the help he needed to return”? Why not just go on to church and begin worshipping? Go to the Kingdom Hall?

Because witnesses can’t just go to Jesus and worship.....they have to work hard for it. There’s no grace...it’s just work work work and beg beg beg forgiveness. Maybe he’s disfellowshipped in which case it may take years for him to be accepted by the congregation. Even if he has not committed a DF sin he would still need to “study” things he’s probably known for 30 years or more!!! Even then he still needs to prove himself to the congregation by attending months of meetings, and going out for hours and hours of field service, before he can be accepted.

Because he’s not really returning to his god....he’s retraining for his old position in the firm. Just like a job they need to make sure he is still qualified!!!

Just wanting confirmation on an unofficial JW experience

just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny this unofficial jw experience that my father received by email.

i’ve told him that it against wt rules to forward unofficial accounts.

but of course he just puts that down to apostate driven lies.

It would be pretty easy to find out. Just get it touch with any US based Zoom employee and ask them if they received such a letter. Can’t be that difficult to find someone in customer services.

I’m also fairly certain Zoom would not want to be associated with JWs & Watchtower to the extent of sending out 2000 emails ....Watchtower is pretty notorious now, it only takes one google search.

She probably simply received a standard thank you from someone on behalf of the CEO/company.

Maria, I have difficulty hiring people to work in my business. No special skills or education. No past experience. $20/hour. I give my biz card to "the homeless" who panhandle on the street corner. None ever show up for a job. I think they're making more (tax free) cash than I am in their panhandling.

The only "modern day slavery" IMO is the middle class worker who "slaves away" every damn day to earn a good livelihood for their family but who then loses (over) 50% of their earnings to taxes, (too) much of what goes to support those deadbeats who do not WANT a job. Wealth re-distribution.

😂🤣🤣The reason you’re homeless people don’t turn up is because they have too xterm mental health issues to maintain regular employment, or they have extreme addiction problems, which again, makes regular employment an impossible dream.

Yes, I said it, a DREAM. A home. A family. A career. Coming home tired but happy every evening to wonderful PETS you can keep because you own a home. To children, a husband who loves you and doesn’t hurt you or throw you out every 5 mins. The satisfaction you are taking care of your family....a holiday to look forward....FRIENDS yes colleagues at work to talk to. Walking up each day without a feeling of dread, misery or psychotic episodes, even.

This is not a tough life or slavery!!!! How laughable! I don’t know about over taxation where you are, I agree they waste our taxes. But don’t for one moment think the disenfranchised, the lonely, the unemployed poor and lost to society ENJOY or are better off than the warm comfort of a middle class or working class but normal life. Everyone has their struggles....illness, bereavement etc of course. A Young couple I know who have it all just endured a still birth. But those people you speak of endure that pain too, but without support.

THe opposite of addiction is not sobriety. It’s CONNECTION.

NB I can’t imagine homeless or jobless people turning down £20 an hour where I live!! Not those without mental health issues, that is.

Anointed Grandmother wakes up

anointed great grandmother who woke upi arrived at the coffee shop on my bicycle and took up a seat at the outdoor table in the fresh air.

(this was way before the pandemic).. a lady with permed white hair walked over to my table and spoke directly to me.. i was wearing earbuds at that moment and didn’t hear.

i popped them out and asked her to repeat herself.. “that’s a beautiful bicycle you have there.
