Yes the forum is an absolute treasure trove from the days when leaving wasn't easy and took hard work & research. Those people were a special breed.

I've been on exreddit since 2,000 subs & One thing that annoys me about EXJW Reddit (and I've brought it up with them) is that they term it the "biggest resource for JWs on the internet", which is laughable. They don't link to this forum which in my opinion is by far the biggest in-depth resource.

So when I've mentioned this forum there or linked to it, because of the name, many redditors think it's a forum for current believing witnesses!!!

I believe the reluctance to link to here stems from the initial influence of Evans& his cronies resenting this forum. It's also partly a political decision. ExjW Reddit has its place & there are many interesting personal stories and news items posted. But much of it is light-hearted memes or rehashed information. They do link to JWfacts.com, but not to here. That in itself is partly a political decision.

Snare & Racket Right wing US politics were promoted, left wing and liberal ideology mocked.

Snare I understand and can't disagree with you! But I think much of that stems from sheer frustration at the amount of left wing bias in the main stream media. I'm a lifelong lefty but a deeply fair minded person (even if I do say!) and I cannot stand the suppression of certain news stories and blatant lies they tell. I understand why people come here to sound off. It's got to the point where I no longer wish to pay my TV licence because the BBC is mandated to be impartial and they don't even bother to hide their bias. The urban elite are in charge and are throwing the working classes to the dogs. The left are now the party of suppression of speech, authoritarian war mongers and as for women's rights they have trampled all over us. Let's not forget crime because who does crime really affect? You guessed it ....the poor. Parents rights? Out the door....oh I could go on, sorry🤣I've just done what everyone hates. Anyway I think many come here as a sort of refuge from the insanity. But I get that it's given us a certain reputation.

The following is a link to the minutes and list of attendees at the All party Parliamentary group on Safeguarding in Faith communities. If they weren't members of parliament (or their researchers) all of them belonged to actual faith groups or recognised child protection agencies such as the N.S.P.C.C. What on earth was a You Tuber with no expertise or experience of child protection OR a survivor of abuse, doing there? Particularly one who has admitted online and in person to being a sex tourist. Using Thai girls half his age, the most trafficked in the world and over half of whom are forced into it as children! He's elbowed his way in merely for the sake of making content. Obscene.

It revolts me that Lloyd will capitalise financially on such a horrific case, whilst being so cavalier about using exploited girls in Thailand when over half of them will have been trafficked or forced into prostitution as children.**

It's called street epistemology and there are quite a few really excellent people who do this already on You Tube. People Lloyd couldn't hold a candle to. I'd also guess his knowledge of other faiths is extremely limited as a JW. If he tries to debate Muslims he'll struggle, because they don't view the problem of evil the same way we do in the west.

*For 'Advocating' read 'making money talking about it on you tube'.

**He hasn't once donated the proceeds he makes during these streams taking about CSA to a survivors charity.

Bit off topic but relevent...

I was thinking about this listening to someone's story the other day.

I don't believe this has ever been raised on the subject of witness elders having clergy privilege, which I don't believe they have for the following reason. Married women don't have the automatic right to a "confessional" with only themselves as penitent and their elder/s. Elders *and* husband's can over rule that 'right' and insist the husband accompanies the married female penitent. The reverse is not true for husband's.

I'm aware the courts and government institutions have taken into account the fact there are multiple elders involved, including ones at Bethel not present to hear the 'confession'. But I'm not aware they have considered this anomaly with married, female JWs.
I believe this would definitely put the witness set up our of the reasonable realm of penitent and clergy.

I wonder, if she had not given up her career, would she have lived somewhere safer? Somewhere with proper smoke alarms and safer electrical wiring? (someone said it was hot weather so maybe faulty wiring?)

TOHHasn't Twitter been losing money? And that $44 billion valuation is hilariously inflated. Musk needs Twitter to generate income because he overpaid for it and is looking at a massive loss if he can't stabilize it.

God he's so predictable. Yes it was wildly inflated. Musk wants what Lloyd claims to want and has been banging on about for years....free and open debate.

As usual he wade's in without knowing the first damn thing. Complaining about the blue check is absurd. We are not the customers, we are the product. Advertisers are the customers and at the moment they're probably in Elon's ear threatening to withdraw, like General Motors. Woke advertisers have a stranglehold on how the site is moderated. If we want genuine free debate/speech we should support a business model that relies less on advertising.

These people aren't pissed that they have to pay for a blue check, they are pissed that anyone can pay for a blue check. They claim to be egalitarian, yet they want to maintain their elitist status quo.

LMsAHe’s been wanting a blue check for some time as he views himself as a media personality. Mike Rinder and Steve Hassan have blue checks and he thinks that if they get one so should he.

Lloyd's just a rank and file ex Jehovah's witness with a you tube channel and a self published memoir. At least Hassan has a doctorate and is a certified therapist. Rinder is an Emmy award winning television presenter and was a Scientology senior exec, with genuine insider knowledge - there's no comparison, Lloyd.

I would think this is huge. It's Norway, not a dictatorship where you expect this kind of thing or tiny country no one can find on a map.

This actually blows me away. We've had some absolutely huge Watchtower stories lately! Some that will probably lead to either the major change to the religion we've all been wanting - shunning - which by default may stop many other harms such as the blood ban and CSA. Or it will end in Watchtower loosing it's charity status and consequently it's tax breaks, in many major western countries. Another win.

Yet there's crickets from Devon's. No wait... a video on Catholic's praying (who knew?).

It's as I always said Lloyd is not smart but got two major things in his favour. He hit You Tube at the right time and was enough of a narcissist to fool people into thinking he was this heavyweight thinker with the gravitas needed to take on the Tower. So people offered him their help. It was these "helpers" that had the talent, did the hard graft or had the compassion to make it work.

Observed without them now, his work is dull & irrelevant & he sounds like the empty headed, egocentric, pompous ass he is.

It's getting on a year since his livestream and all this went public so obviously a drop in his supporters wasn't just some knee-jerk reaction that he could bounce back from.

Remember on Andrew Gold's podcast when Floyd Devon's said Woke "Cancel Culture" was actually " Consequence Culture "??🤨 I wonder if he still feels the same way?🤔
