I thought it was ok.

I used to go to a lot of comedy nights when I was younger. In fact I saw a lot of people that became pretty well known. The best gig I saw was Mark Lamarr, believe it or not, who did a whole set on David Livingstone (as in "Dr. Livingstone, I presume"). Can't say why but it was hilarious.

That's what I love about small towns and cities in mainland Europe. Everyone's so welcoming and friendly. I'm not surprised he's got a great audience. They love their live music and performances. Booze is way cheaper, too and you don't get charged a fortune for entrance. I hate the UK like that. Everyone's so bloody cold and it's expensive. Costs you £50 just for a couple of pints in a crappy boozer let alone entertainment 😫

Athony Morris is nothing but a self-righteous, bitter, smug, arrogant, egotistical old man and a terrible story teller. He talks about apostates as maggots, as matches that Jehovah will extinguish, hot dogs being split by being on an open flame. He rants on tight pants on brothers and spandex on woman. He always goes off script

Not disputing this is all shitty. But R & R every one of the GB think EXACTLY the same way. All the helpers, committee members, branch bosses and Bethel overseers & elders think this and I know because the vast majority of JWs think this way, too.

As someone who similarly gets the rough end of the stick because I too say what everyone else is thinking (but are too self interested to say), I can't help but think too much is made of him being the worst. They're all just as bad. Whilst we have men like Morris willing to say what witness beliefs REALLY entail, it's that much easier to let governments, media & worldlies know what Watchtower really teaches & JWs what goes on behind the curtain.

As long as watchtower exists I believe we're better off with men like him in the GB.

common theme I’m hearing. His DIL turned him in. For been intoxicated ass at a family event. I think there would be little doubt in the xjw community that Tony is a raging Alcoholic.

Someone on this site was in a congregation with one of his sons and DIL. They claimed she was awful.

I think the bottlegate thing was vastly overblown. He was probably buying it for committee get-together's or the stock cupboard for entertaining business contacts. If it were any other Bethelite it wouldn't have been an issue at all🤷‍♀️

so karl klien of the governing body gave his life story in the watchtower talking about his stress, nervous breakdowns and pressure to take the lead.

Well. If he starts attending AA they'll force him to get one....and right fast!!

One of the first "steps" after admitting you've got a drink problem is listing off all the "harms" you've caused🤔... I should think Toni's sponsor is going to have his work cut out!!!😬

StephenLaLiberte He was very judgmental in his way of teaching and perhaps he hit a point where he could no longer rationalize some of the things he's seen and thus, started to judge his own group, religion, including himself. This has happened to many zealots in the past, why not AM3?

That's a very good point. Thank you. Of course Paul of the New Testament is the classic example.

What brought this to mind was something else JT mentioned and that was that for the GB to make a change on an issue, it used to be they only had to have a majority vote (can't remember the percentage). However now apparently they all have to be in absolute agreement. No dissenters or abstainers.
So I wondered if he resigned because he couldn't or wouldn't agree with the others?

On JT & pals livestream a Bethelite had said that they had been asked to pray for Ant Mo & family (in ?morning worship).

If so it may be he's had some kind of break down (possibly drink related but more likely drink being a symptom of stress). Going off script could be one aspect of their concerns about him but they're the GB & they have the right to do so. I mean who is going to pull them up about it?

I think there's a strong possibility Ant Mo took this decision himself? I know few of you will disagree, but there's a chance. He's the only father on the GB Is it possible all this CSA has finally gotten to him? Unlike other GB members, he's not commented on it, has he?

Is it possible he's had a bust up with the others over it and just found it too much? Particularly with this suicide. Maybe he's the one that believes Jehovah has removed his blessing on the org?!!
