If we write a script, bring some video and sound clips of cedars livestream, take screen grabs of the various Facebook posts he's made, controversy's and slinging matches he's got in to etc (most of it is on this thread, I'll also have a butchers at Kiwi Farms) and we title it "Lloyd Evans Defamation Campaign" I'm more than happy to narrate. Since he also accuses his detractors of hiding behind anonymity, I'm also happy to provide him with my details, full name etc. I've no family left alive in the org, nothing to hide and everything I'll be narrating is truthful with full receipts provided.

What does anyone think?

Journey Man I said before, I do think the cart witnessing itself was not a bad idea, but the way the org has implemented it is totally ineffective, telling publishers not to engage passers-by unless they are first approached.

When it was first introduced (here in Europe at least), publishers could offer literature held in their hands, and could engage passers-by in conversation. That seems much more appealing (to those who might be interested, of course) and more potentially effective

I think worst thing isn't just that they don't actively engage people. The worst thing, at least for me, is the fact that if anyone does approach them all they do - all they've been instructed to do - is direct you to jW dot org!!! They won't seem to discuss anything but their ruddy Website in all its thousand and one languaged glory!!

Journey man My favourite part of ministry was actually having Bible discussions/studies, because you knew the person wanted to be there, and it was a chance to really dig deeper and discuss their thoughts and feelings. But opportunities for these got rarer and rarer, partly due to increased lack of interest, but also partly due to the watering down of the study materials we were supposed to use.

100% I loved my Bible studies. Even the crazy ones! The students who were really interested were so enjoyable. Most of the time you had to hold them back because they'd zip through the books so fast (I mean not surprising given the material). But there was so much more to delve in to back then - even if most of it turned out to be cobblers....at least it was imaginative!!😜

I think it would be depressing to do a study now. Unless it was a six year old child who was studying. I'd find the material and the questions embarrassing to ask an adult - unless they were literally learning the language!🙄

Also, there's another issue with these "spiritual" men living a monastic life. Let's be real here. A monastic life of self denial, among other monks, with no family, no children, no women - is not easy for most men.

There's a reason the family unit - the more extended the better - is the way humans seem to live most successfully the world over. That's not to say there aren't problems within family's. We know there can be. But total solitude and an asexual life is not something most men - most people - find easy. It's also obvious that it's something that's going to be particularly attractive to gay men. Especially in the days before gay men could marry and live openly in their own family units.

Slim Could I suggest ... The best and most effective response to his recent YouTube begging videos would be a succinct, targeted YouTube video specifically in response to his begging videos. Because most people find him on YouTube it stands to reason that’s where most of his patrons go on to find out about him as well. They are not reading forums or websites.

Debra We should also edit his confession livestream video, not add anything to it I mean but instead of the rambling on keep the key points in his own words where he clearly admits to using prostitutes every 3 or 4 months over the last (was it) four years? How he publicly admits his wife doesn't satisfy him and he can't control his dick all in his own words, he admitted to dating a sex worker

Great idea....it needs to be titled "The Lloyd Evans Defamation Campaign" so people can find it easily.

I've had it with Dijana. She's obviously prioritising money over principals. I fail to see what she could possibly do for his videos except make a couple of phonecalls.

My "team"!?! A manipulated ex wife he's humiliated in the worst way publicly and has terrified her the kids will starve if she doesn't put up and shut up. A video editor who would find it virtually impossible to get any other editing job in Croatia. Such genuinely loyalty.

the short answer is no, it is not.. i have heard one or two proposals that it is, including from langfocus, a usually excellent youtube channel.. but no, english is actually a germanic language which has borrowed many words from other languages.

here are several reasons why english is germanic at its core .... 1. verb forms.

Aha! You've explained something I always wondered about!

I'd imagine the influence comes not only from German settlers, but also all the non Germans whose mother tongue is Yiddish, which of course is German derived.

Unless he's lost his faith completely I doubt very much he wouldn't.

As long as a JW hasn't been DF he would still partake, GB or not. What "privileges" they have doesn't affect anointing (see: women JWs lol)
