What is better than best, or ideal, is if Jah had had the Bible written in such a way that we don't have to guess what is truth. However, for whatever reason, He wants us to figure out what is truth. That means we are left to speculate, which inherently means we are going to be wrong quite often.

As you suggest, there would be no mistakes if everything was labeled "Not Sure". However, human nature is such that most will come to some conclusion, even despite your label. For an organization of humans to exist, the leaders have to make the best guess they can with the evidence they have at that time. It is incumbant that they also change as the evidence changes.

maybe i'm thickskulled, but simply restating that it ended in october or tishri doesn't explain away my reasons for asking the question.

i'm only looking for answers about the date in 1914, and i'm not looking for the typical apostate replies that the year is wrong.. i question october/tishri being the end of the gentile times, and thus the start of jesus' reign, for the following reasons:.

Since the society does not have a hotline to heaven, then present truth on any subject is simply the best speculation they have at any given point in time. Some speculations are closer than others to actual truth, so some teachings haven't changed, while others have. The fact that some have flipflopped is simply where the Bible's evidence is as heavy for one conclusion as it is for the opposite conclusion. Most such issues are insignificant in the overall scheme of things.

While many apostates use "change" as criticism, it is actually evidence of willingness to conform to what's accurate. It is also evidence of willingness to later even change the change if necessary. Would it be better if the society was like Xdom, and hold onto falsehoods for centuries?

I appreciate your lengthy attempt to reconcile the 1914 events, but you missed one of the main points. The rider of the white horse rides BEFORE the ride of the fiery-colored horse. per Revelation.

As for your questions about Neb, "times", etc., don't you think these should be a separate thread of your own?

I would think that my point is fairly obvious. If Jesus wasn't enthroned until sometime in Oct 1914, with time then being allowed for the heavenly war, and then additional time being allowed for Satan to stir up WWI, how does reconcile with the undisputable fact that WWI began, and was well under way by Oct 1914.

Why does this appear so elementary to me, and apparently, so complex to everyone else?

I'll be the first to acknowledge that I may be missing something. That's why I posted this to begin with. I thought I would get help to either understand the obvious, or catch what I was missing. Frankly, it is amazing to me that noone apparently has an answer.

Writing to the Society about these questions was obviously considered prior to posting such here. However, I don't want to bother them with questions that may have obvious answers, nor do I want to submit a question based on an erroneous understanding of their teachings.

This is not an issue that involves 2500 year old historical evidence. There are thousands of people alive that lived through WWI. The dates and events are uncontested.

Thus, I must be overlooking something obvious, OR I am incorrect in my understanding of the Society's Revelation interpretation.

Someone please critique the 3rd paragraph of my original post, and tell me whether this extremely brief summary accurately relates the Society's teachings on Revelation?

Yes, there is AN answer, but what is it?

I already know better than to run around contradicting the Society's teachings. That's NOT what I'm doing. Reread my post(s). I'm just asking for someone to explain to me the thought process that I'm obviously missing. It appears that certain historic events occurred prior to the time that they should had, per the Revelation prophecy. So, what am I missing here? It is easy for one person, such as myself, to miss something in error. But I would think that out of all the Bible students who review my post, just one could help me out????

You've got to be joking? The Society has directed Elders not to think or reason on Society chronology? Why are my questions different from any other Bible questions? What if a householder asked such? Is Society chronology a touchy subject?

And, thanks for the excellent advice! When the Elders and Society refuse to answer a question, I'm to make an issue out of it with the CO??? Right! The next thing I would hear would be an invitation to discuss my question with a 3 man committee...
