as some of you might know by now, i am not a jehovah's witness, and never have been.

and, never will be, thanks to you and other people like you who have opened my eyes to what the society really is.

as someone who never crossed the fence, quite often i feel that i can't contribute with anything to the people who left, or who are at the fence, or who are very deep into the society and seem unreachable.

It's interesting you mentioned that. Yesterday, I was over my aunt and uncle's house preparing for my dad's funeral and news clips of the celebration came on tv. My uncle looked at it and said, "You know, that's all for nothing. None of that even matters." I didn't ask him to elaborate since I already knew what he meant. But, I was thinking, "How is this for nothing?" The news showed a guy who was able to buy bananas at a market that he wouldn't have been able to do before. How does that not matter?

Did You Have Any Weirdo JWs In Your Hall?

in the 2 halls i was in, there were a few.

but the most memorable one was an elderly pioneer who would ask the householder if they wanted to hear about "the truth".

when they quite naturally said ,"no", he responded with, "if you don't believe in jesus, jesus will turn you into a pig"!.

There were several crazy people at my old hall but the worst one was the schizophrenic lady who never bathed. One time, my friend had to spray her down with febreeze when she got stuck in the same car group as her. It got so bad that the elders had to tell her she could no longer go out in service.

i was working in the back room of my house, transcribing an interview with lara logan (she's fascinating), when my dogs started barking at the front door.

i ignored it for 30 seconds, because that's just what they do.

figured it was a cat or the mailman.

I wish I'd have thought of that too. But I wouldn't have been able to do it. Everyone I went out in service with was a better witness than me. Even when I was pioneering, I'd always hope nobody would answer when it was my turn. I used to get so nervous in the ministry that I would have to pee every 15 minutes. A lot of people were annoyed with me.

Wow. I didn't realize there were so many jw gossipers. I thought it was just my congregation. I grew up in a small town cong. that consisted mainly of older, single sisters. As soon as a got baptized at 17, a new elder with his family moved in. Their daughter was a couple of years younger than me but she had everyone wrapped around her finger and made my life miserable. I genuinely tried to befriend her and that was the thanks I got. There were 3 other girls a little older than us who weren't any better. It got so bad that at one point(I was around 21), I tried to plan different ways that I could kill myself. Looking back, I don't see how I managed to stay in that religion for so long. I guess that's why it hasn't been too much of a struggle to start fading. I never considered any jw a close friend. They were only people I would hang around when I wanted to have fun. I never trusted any of them.

I usually like Fridays because I get off work earlier. But, today my doctor worked in two emergencies so I probably won't get out of here til after 6pm.

I meet with my non-jw aunt today

we meet for lunch and i told her i didn't want to be a jw anymore.

she already suspected that this was the reason i wanted to meet with her.

Black Sheep: I would love to take him out with me. I'm just not sure how.

Lisavegas420: I'm trying to prepare myself but I'm still scared. If he does decide to leave, it seems more reasonable that he would also be the one to physically leave our apartment. Why should I have to find a place to stay? But, I know it doesn't always work out that way so to answer your question, no I don't have anywhere to go.

We meet for lunch and I told her I didn't want to be a jw anymore. She already suspected that this was the reason I wanted to meet with her. She was very supportive and even invited me to Thanksgiving dinner. I told her I would but that is the week me and my husband are moving into a different apartment and I won't be able to. She understood and said that her door is always open. The first thing she asked me was what brought this on. I told her about 607 and about the cross. When I got to the blood issue she told me something that I never knew. When my mom was two, she had several blood transfusions that saved her life. She wouldn't be here without those transfusions and neither would I or my brother. This was really scary for me to think that if my mom's mom was a jw, I would never have existed. And what makes me more upset is that if I was in the same situation my mom was in when I was two, she would've let me die. I don't even know how to deal with that. My aunt suggested I speak with a counselor and said she could help me find one when I'm ready. She didn't pressure me to make any decisions and said she will support whatever I do. One thing she said that I agree with is that my husband needs to be the next one to know. I can't keep claiming to be sick on Saturdays anymore. I need to tell him no matter what the consequences are. I just have to figure out how to do it. It felt so good to tell someone though. When my aunt first walked up to me I was crying and shaking and once we had talked(and I got some food in me) I felt more at peace. I know that there's no going back now. I can't continue to live a double life. She is going to tell my cousin who I found out lives just 10 minutes from me. She thinks her daughter will reach out to me once she knows, I guess we'll see. But she said she won't tell my mom, though if she's starts shunning me, she'll try to talk her out of it. I tried to explain how my mom will view me but I don't think she realizes what she's up against. I think that about sums it up. Next step - my husband.

18-Year Relationship Ended Today...

...when i had my dear old cat, puss puss put down this morning.

i had her for 18 years.

last night i bathed her and used the blow dryer and brush on her matted fur, and she didn't even try to fight me.

I'm sorry. My cat is my best friend right now so I can't imagine anything happening to her.

I got a role in an independent movie!

i went on an audition last tuesday and found out just now that i got a part.

i didn't get the part i auditioned for but that's to be expected because i'm new to acting.

i'm going to be in one scene.

Leolaia: I'm not sure what my part will be yet. The scene was added to the script after the audition.

Robdar: The shooting is suppose to start this month but the schedule isn't finalized yet.
