Teenagers are going through a lot, they are trying to separate from their parents and sometimes a family splitting up makes it even harder for them, they feel like they must take sides. Let her know you still love her and if she needs to talk you are there for her. Remember her birthday and hang in there.

When leaving was due to "Sin" and not Apostasy
by Cat2016 init has been 18 years since i decided to leave and fade away, and at that time i was feeling a lot of pressure that i wasn't doing enough, didn't fit in with the folks in my congregation, and was unhappy in my young jw marriage.
needless to say i recklessly went and had an affair that left me pregnant.
i did not know what to do, i panicked and got major anxiety.

Welcome, you are so smart to have taken advantage of technology... Many have traveled the same road. Out but still a believer. If you need direction or spiritual counseling don't go back to the Kingdom hall!
We are here with 15 years of wisdom. The search function is really good. We have believers and atheists and some of us are blunt but tell it as they see it. If you have insurance, counseling can really help. This site is addictive and I visit every day. Take care.

Last night we were driving and saw the moon, it was huge compared to the full moon last month. It wont disappoint. It will be out all night largest at 6:30 in the morning (Monday) here in the Midwest.

Do they still sell poppies here in the states? My dad used to wear one when I was small.

Org Is RACIST! Towards Sisters Of COLOR In Particular--IMO!
by HiddlesWife ini'm sorry--i'm getting this very sensitive vibe that the org (mainly those at the top) don't have any respect--forget about love--for sisters of color.
i'm coming to this conclusion from a couple of videos on jw broadcasting about single sisters.. after watching this video: .

Rant away, you are preaching the truth. When I was a teenager I knew that I would never marry a witness. The attitude you speak about is straight from the old testament. While I am not a 'person of color' I agree completely.

There are a few current members here, but for the most part we are ex-JWs, some hurt by the religion; others with family in (like me). I am sure there will be a few to show up. We have quite a few atheists and agnostics here too.
Welcome.

Libraries still exist and you can even download digital for a few weeks.... They even take them back automatically. If you like older books they are often out of copyright and are download-able for free. Google is your friend!

Chicken soup with rice
Start brown rice cooking(takes about 55 minutes at my altitude.)
Add onion and seasonings, chop celery(one or two stalks) then add
Leftover chicken or chop raw chicken to bite size or simmer chicken pieces and de-bone.
After every thing is simmering I take 1/2 cup portions of frozen peas and nuke one minute to defrost, then add to each bowl. I hate how peas get soft especially in leftovers so that is my solution.
