Life after death
by truthseeker ineveryone has different views about life after death and whether or not it is a possibility.. as jehovah's witnesses, we were always taught that there is no life after death, that this is the only life we have now and that the wages of sin is death.. .
what are your views on life after death?.

What say you Christians ???
by wobble init seems to me that most, if not all christians are really hung up on sin and redemption from sin and how naturally evil we all are.. my question, and observation is this : i had nothing to do with whatever you say adam and eve did wrong, i have always, throughout my life, treated whoever i came into contact with compassion, respect and love.. i have lived by the golden rule.. not many people, hand on heart, can say that, i can.. so, is your god going to judge me for the "sin" of some mythical forebears of mine ?
is he going to say that , because i did not believe in him, i willl be judged adversely, even though i lived by the precepts he is supposed to support ?.
all i can say is, if your god is like that, i refuse to worship or acknowledge him.. and i certainly do not want to get to know him.

There is a difference between receiving an anointing from the indwelling Holy Spirit and being the God-Man by nature, one person who is Deity/Humanity. We are all christs/gods nonsense is New Age lies. It is not biblical Christianity.

my conscience wouldn't allow me to continue.

Your best one sentence JW comeback contest
by moshe ini am looking for your best jw comeback- the kind that makes a jw's jaw drop.

moshe: " do you know what an oxymoron is?

You underestimate the ability of God to inspire an accurate recording of history. The Noahic Flood fits catastrophism vs uniformitarianism. A Global Flood fits secular and religious evidence.

After leaving the JW's, why would anybody seek another religion
by Star tiger inafter such a traumatic experience in the jehovah's witness religion and reasoning on all other versions of religion, why do so many just jump ship into another religion offering the world but still delivering nothing!.
appreciate your comments,.

I honestly desire to have biblical truth even if it is not traditional views. Some Christian views are more Augustinian than biblical (Catholic; Calvinistic). Christians have freedom to hold to different views on peripheral subjects. We have unity and diversity, not autocratic uniformity like the kingdom of the cults. A Calvinist and an Arminian may disagree about determinism vs free will, but we have a common faith in the triune God. Denying original sin (Adamic, Federal Headship theory, genetic) is not a denial that we are sinners in need of a sinless Savior. I can show why sin is moral/volitional, not metaphysical/genetic. This is not cherry picking beliefs, but evidence that some Christians uncritically accept tradition instead of working through a biblical theology. Likewise, some of my fellow Christians are cessationists like the JWs are. I affirm from Scripture and practice that spiritual gifts did not cease in the first century nor at the closing of the canon. This includes speaking in tongues (WT arguments against it display the same ignorance as a Baptist who argues against it). I reject your straw man view of the OT God's dealings with man. The OT God is the same as the NT God, but we are in an Age of Grace at the moment, not a Law dispensation.

I am a Christian in the minority who also does not believe in original sin. I do believe we are all sinners. The link shows lack of understanding of incarnation/trinity.
Jews are wrong to reject Jesus as Messiah. Regardless of Deity issues, this is a simpler starting point. A rejection of the NT leaves one with partial OT revelation *Heb. 1:1-3.

In light of the wealth of info out there, there is no excuse to listen to WT and just uncritically trust them, especially given their shoddy track record. It will not be an excuse that we are misled by false prophets when we could have known better. Those who sell all to promote Camping are culpable for being stupid and disobedient to Scripture.

Could Christians please respond; Is there a penalty for rejecting Jesus?
by nicolaou in.
hell is pretty much out of vogue these days so if this rabid atheist decidedly turns his back on god and/or christ what will become of me?.

What dumb things did Jesus say?! If you think that a watch or clock is evidence for a designer/creator (men), why do you think the complexity of humans, creation, universe is not a drop of evidence for an intelligent, supernatural Creator?! Most atheists do not deny the historicity of Christ. If you think Plato existed, you should not doubt that Jesus did. The Bible is historical narrative, not fairy tale. Jesus claimed to be God. If He is not Lord, you must show that the evidence fits legend, liar, lunatic. You were lost as a JW, but are now even more lost as an atheist/agnostic.

Many Mormons have a reputation for exemplary living, but they also have legalisms, rules, and profound failings with their public image not matching the day-to-day reality of their lives (they also have bizarre false doctrine). Christians in my circles can also be biblically holy or compromising in the flesh. Behavior is one factor, but belief is also important. A good living atheist is going to hell, while a bad living Christian is going to heaven (few understand grace, which is not a license to sin).

The penalty for rejecting Jesus is the wages of sin, death (physical, spiritual, eternal). Rom. 3:23; Rom. 6:23; Jn. 3:16 vs Jn. 3:36. The benefit of receiving vs rejecting Jesus is abundant/eternal life.
