How evangelicals and Witnesses are alike
by jgnat inboth believe in the inerrancy of the bible (psalms 12:6, 119:89, proverbs 30:5-6, 2 timothy 3:16-17, 2 peter 1:20-21, rev 22:18-19) and in their absolute correct interpretation.both believe that the other is apostate (2 thessalonians 2:3-4).both believe that the others doctrine is influenced by the devil (genesis 3:1-15, john 8:44).both believe the other is condemned for their false beliefs (2 peter 2:1-3, 1 timothy 4:1-3, 2 timothy 2:16-19, hebrews 6:4-8).neither would darken the door of the others sanctuary, for fear of contamination.both would avoid casual association (proverbs 13:20, 1 corinthians 5:11, 15:33), and certainly would not marry the other (2 corinthians 6:14).both believe that armageddon is imminent and look forward to the purified world afterwards.both consider that the highest form of charity is to convert another.
practical works like feeding the poor are considered inferior.more?
can we make it a dozen (a more perfect number)?.

Do Active Witnesses Find Meetings Exciting?
by Band on the Run inkh meetings were utter hell.
the boredom, particularly for a child, was awful.
i feel it was a form of child abuse.

Are they usually punctual starting and ending a meeting? In a Pentecostal church, we leave room for the moving of the Holy Spirit to change the service to do what He wants in lives. Spontaneity is not something I have ever seen in a JW meeting.

What say you Christians ???
by wobble init seems to me that most, if not all christians are really hung up on sin and redemption from sin and how naturally evil we all are.. my question, and observation is this : i had nothing to do with whatever you say adam and eve did wrong, i have always, throughout my life, treated whoever i came into contact with compassion, respect and love.. i have lived by the golden rule.. not many people, hand on heart, can say that, i can.. so, is your god going to judge me for the "sin" of some mythical forebears of mine ?
is he going to say that , because i did not believe in him, i willl be judged adversely, even though i lived by the precepts he is supposed to support ?.
all i can say is, if your god is like that, i refuse to worship or acknowledge him.. and i certainly do not want to get to know him.

chalam: thx for the verses that I am familiar with. Rom. 4-5 is about justification, while Rom. 1-3 is the harmartiological passage (doctrine of sin). Rom. 5 deals with physical death (separation of spirit-soul from body), spiritual death (relational separation from God), and eternal death (everlasting separation in the lake of fire). Failing to distinguish physical depravity from Adam (we all die, even saints, even sinless Jesus; genetic/metaphysical) and moral depravity (volitional) in the passage leads to proof texting. Verses must be interpreted, not just quoted.
The myth of original sin (influenced by Charles G. Finney and the Bible) Do JWs believe in Adamic, original sin like Catholics do? I am in the minority of Evangelicals who reject this traditional view (without rejecting the fact that all are sinners in need of a sinless Savior....babies do not go to hell because they lack moral and mental capacity to sin or reject Christ).
Romans 5 (Ps. 51 is a more common proof text...see this link about Hebraisms; the few original sin proof texts do not negate hundreds of others that show that sin is volitional, not genetic).

The WT has nerve to criticize dynamic, vibrant Christianity that has life and the power/presence of God when it is such a dead religion.

Prodigal/Pika; God has made Himself plain and you are without excuse (Rom. 1). As well, He created Lucifer, NOT Satan. Satan, demons, free will explain evil that brought grief to God and the universe. God will triumph over evil in the end. You impugn His character and ways because you distort His Word out of ignorance. He is loving, but He is also holy. Jesus is God with a face. What fault do you find with Him?

I think the posting guidelines are right at the bottom of the page you are posting on. Scroll down. Apply your critical thinking skills from University and you will not become a JW (see youtube, google, amazon, etc. and listen to the fine folks here who have experience; I have never been a JW; try www.freeminds.org for professional help and here to talk ).

The Holy Spirit and real Jesus is dealing with you to flee this cult. You will make the biggest mistake of your life with temporal and eternal consequences if you get baptized and remain a JW unto death. This is a pseudo-Christian cult, not biblical, historical, orthodox Christianity. Examine its founder, history, beliefs, practices before you make a rash decision that could cost you your life (blood transfusions), family (disfellowshipping), and eternal destiny (Gal. 1:6-10 eternally condemned/anathema for following a false gospel, false prophet, false god, false christ).
