I do not believe babies are evil since they lack moral and mental capacity to sin. Aborted fetuses, newborns, etc. go to heaven if they die. Morally culpable adults who are sinners in the eyes of a holy God are another matter and desperately need a sinless Savior.

What say you Christians ???
by wobble init seems to me that most, if not all christians are really hung up on sin and redemption from sin and how naturally evil we all are.. my question, and observation is this : i had nothing to do with whatever you say adam and eve did wrong, i have always, throughout my life, treated whoever i came into contact with compassion, respect and love.. i have lived by the golden rule.. not many people, hand on heart, can say that, i can.. so, is your god going to judge me for the "sin" of some mythical forebears of mine ?
is he going to say that , because i did not believe in him, i willl be judged adversely, even though i lived by the precepts he is supposed to support ?.
all i can say is, if your god is like that, i refuse to worship or acknowledge him.. and i certainly do not want to get to know him.

by satinka in*sigh* i have been noticing lately there are a number of groups of "christians" signing up as members of this forum, with the obvious agenda of gaining converts for their own cult-like religions.
i have been wondering things like:.

The motive is Jesus' motive who came that we might have life abundant and eternal. The gospel is the power of God for the salvation of all who believe, but a fragrance of death to those who reject it (it can save or condemn depending on response to it). It is also not a crime to have interest/curiosity in other religions/experiences, even if one is an atheist. The Great Commandment (love) and Commission (gospel) is for all people groups, Africans, rich, poor, cultists, world religions, lawyers, plumbers, etc. The passion of Jesus and Paul was to reach people with the transforming love and power of God. This is life and death. It would be unloving to keep the cure to cancer to oneself. It is unloving to keep the cure for death and hell to oneself. Read the NT and you will see the value of seeking the lost coin, sheep, prodigal son. There is no higher purpose/calling. Those who are not open can still provide fun and fellowship as we beat up and expose the common enemy of the WT that has negatively impacted lives (I don't have to have had an abortion to fight against it; I don't have to have been JW to stand with those who were against an evil empire).

God has revealed Himself and the gospel to us in Scripture. He dealt with Israel and contrasted true faith with a plethora of odious false gods/religions. In the NT, the full revelation of Christ retains a narrow focus (Him vs false gods, false idols, that are not gods at all). Heb. 1:1-3; Jude 3; Jn. 14:6; Acts 4:12; Jn. 3:16. Christianity is unique because Jesus is God, so the only way to relationship with God is through the risen Christ. Scientology, Islam, Buddhism, etc. will not cut it because their founder is not the risen God-Man and their writings are not divine revelation.
The local church (vs GB) is also emphasized throughout the NT. There is a corporate dimension. To be right with God is to be in relationship with His people. Corporate worship, instruction, fellowship, evangelism, service, leadership, prayer, discipleship, etc. is God's idea. Just because their is religion/organization counterfeit does not mean the wisdom of God has not raised up a family/army built on the foundation of Christ. Lone Ranger Christian is an oxymoron.
Some of you throw the baby out with the bathwater and swing the pendulum too far the other way. This is a reflection of where you are at, a need for healing/wholeness, a need for maturity and obedience, etc. We should not lower God's ways to our lower level. With His help, we can be what we should be in fellowship with Him and others. Relationships are not wrong, just destructive ones like those in the kingdom of the cults (which is not an argument against loving family, church, society, etc.).

If God intervened every time evil happens, we would all be wiped out in a moment. Justice delayed is not justice denied. There is no love without free will (which leads to the possibility of evil). Don't confuse God and Satan (look at Jesus and try to find fault with Him as God).

Peter considered Paul's writings 'other Scriptures'; 2 Peter 3:16; 2 Tim. 3:16 is primarily about the OT, but it would likely include some NT writings, even before the formal canon was closed.

Christianity is a personal relationship with the Living God, ultimate freedom, love, life. Religion is a snare, a manmade, devilish trap that keeps people from God.

The jesus/jehovah of the WT are not the biblical ones. The WT systematically distorts the doctrine of God/Christology in their sectarian NWT. Christians worship and exalt the Sovereign Lord Jesus/Jehovah and are not guilty of making Him in our image or treating Him like a puppet. Rail against the WT, but you cannot do the same against biblical Christianity.

Sarcasm, fat and ugly. I am overweight, not obese. Not Brad Pitt, but not ugly. Jesus was harsh and judgmental, yet loving. I guess you have not read the Bible. Saying that Jesus is the only way, that He is God, that there is a heaven to gain/hell to shun is not harsh/unloving, if true. You are inventing a god in your own image and a nice religion that is not based on truth, just your sinful desires.

I don't get it. Some of you are puppets of Satan, but Jesus is Sovereign, Lord of all. One is not wise to mock Him who died for you and will judge the quick and the dead.

Jesus is love incarnate. Those who know Him should be experts on love.
