Snowbird: Are you binatarian (few hold this view) or modalist? I assume you deny the Deity/personality of the Holy Spirit, but say the Father and Son are YHWH. Is the Father the Son (modalism) or personally distinct (bi or tri)? You could also be Mormon/polytheistic with Father=Elohim and Jesus=Jehovah. Perhaps you are like Herbert W. Armstrong and his family of gods concept (the WWCOG is now trinitarian)? If there is only one true God, YHWH, and Jesus is this God, where does Father/Spirit fit in with your view? Jesus=Jehovah is the key truth unless it is the Mormon concept of evolving man-gods.

Salvation is conditioned on faith vs unbelief in the person and work of Christ. Some of the JW hypocritical elders likely had their own vices (caffeine addiction, alcoholism, lust/perversion), etc. A true Christian church would not have your eternal destiny depend on smoking or not. As well, this was not always the case, so it would be possible for past Presidents/popes/GB to be smokers and enjoy heaven/paradise, while ones post-new light would be excluded. This is legalism, Pharisaism, cultism, not biblical Christianity (they also may flip flop in the future; the worst issue is blood transfusion; imagine if they change that in the future?!).
The cult has rejected you, but God has not. However, you still must come to a holy God on His terms (which does not include smoking or not, though it is true that a Christian should be free from this harmful habit). The real issues are heart, immorality, thought, motive, etc. Externals will catch up, but are not the main issue. Mormons abstain from 'vices' better than most, yet are not Christian (and their public image does not match private reality).

Is Rev 5:11-14 Worship or Obeisance?
by JCISGOD98 ini asked a jw last week the following question, "is revelation 5:11-14 a worship act to the lamb or an act of obeisance?.
revelation 5:11-14 nwt states and i saw, and i heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: the lamb that was slaughtered is worthy to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.
because it's an act of worship and it is not allow in your kingdom hall.

LDS/Mormon tritheism/plurality of gods conflicts with monotheistic Judeo-Christianity. Trinitarianism is strictly monotheistic since there is only one God, one nature of God, one being of God, not 3 gods.

I was wrongly assuming that they had rejected core WT teaching, not just some beliefs and practices. You cannot reform a rotten apple. The whole thing is false, cultic. Just as JWs call people to come out of Christendom, so those who know Christ call them out of the WT (organization) to a person. A JW who is proven wrong will wonder where else they can go? The answer is to Jesus, not another fallible organization. Scripture testifies of Him, yet they refuse to come to Him for life (Jn.).

Q for all Christians (not just JW) about the ransom.
by Anony Mous inso this is the basic logical flaw in christianity i believe.
a brother identified it from the stage for me in a talk.
we all agree (as christians and jw's) that the ransom was necessary because adam lost his perfection and everlasting life.. this is a paraphrase from the talk:.

His death was not a literal payment, so universalism is not true. He intended it for all and it is efficacious for all who believe (you confuse the grounds and conditions of salvation Jn. 3:16 vs Jn. 3:36; I Jn. 5:11-13). I am not Arminian anymore. I am a more consistent, biblical free will theist, the opposite of deterministic/fatalistic Calvinism (Open Theism www. opentheism.info). His death is the basis for salvation. In Calvinism, Arminianism, OT, it is the only basis/grounds (reason by which) we are saved. We are saved by grace alone through faith. Those who reject Christ do not receive His free gift. Our faith does not save us, but it allows a subjective appropriation of His objective provision (which is not TULIP limited). Salvation is relational, free, reciprocal loving, not caused/coerced. His death saves both of us, but how do you explain why some are not saved (double predestination is odious, even to Calvin who pinched his nose and agreed with it anyway due to a flawed view of sovereignty/free will).
Who do you say Jesus is, the real issue? Is He Almighty God or creature? I hope you are not an Arian Calvinist. If you are, you better be able to run faster scared than I can mad.

There is one TRUE God and many false, so-called gods that are not really God at all (Gal. 4:8). Satan is a false God. Jesus/Father are both called Mighty God (el gibbor) in Isaiah. They are the one true God. Any 'gods' other than YHWH are not uncreated God by nature.

How Do You Respond To: Like Early Christians, JWs Go "House-To-House"?
by minimus ini read the ray franz book but witnesses just see the scripture about going "house to house".
how would you help a witness understand the reality?.

JWs have used Acts 20:20 to justify door-to-door. In 1972, they rightly recognized that this is about discipleship and house churches/teaching believers, not so-called field service or evangelism. After 1975, they had to crack the whip to get their door-to-door evangelism moving to get the numbers back up, so in 1979, they went back to the wrong evangelistic interpretation. This method of outreach is not effective in countries that consider their house their castle. In some cultures, hospitality is paramount, so they will let JWs in even though they will never embrace their message. There are far more effective means of outreach. Given the sheer number of hours and amount of literature, JWs should be vastly larger and faster growing than they are. It is also not a test of truth/orthodoxy just because they are well-organized in their technique. Mormon missionaries go house to house, I as a pastor or evangelical Christian have done it, Baptists have done it, other cults like JWs have done it (so have vacuum salesmen and encyclopedia salesmen). It is not wrong to do so, but it is not a sign of truth or Jehovah's blessing. JWs have made it a salvation issue practically. It keeps people being slaves to the organization and ensures some growth and to keep the money coming in. Scripture interpreted in context does not support JW beliefs nor practices.
Christians, myself included, practice this in small group home meetings that are primarily discipleship/Bible study, with an opportunity for unbelievers to come and share relationship and study the Word with the opportunity to become a believer through this small group fellowship vs our megachurches. The Bible does not forbid door-to-door evangelism, TV evangelism, etc., but as the video says, it is not a criteria of baptism, salvation, not the only way to share the gospel, not the most effective way to do it (vs relational methods vs cold call).

Jn. 17:3 refutes modalism, not trinitarianism. It is consistent with Jn. 1:1 which refutes modalism and Arianism. Jn. 17:3
John/Jesus were strict monotheists. Jn. 20:28 does not make any sense apart from the Deity of Christ/trinitarian perspective (direct address to Jesus calling Him the God of me, the Lord of me, the same LXX phrase used by the Psalmist in worship to YHWH; one would not call Michael Archangel Lord/God and Jesus would have rebuked Thomas if He was not God; instead, He received it as worship and called Him blessed).
One does not worship created beings since only God is worthy of true worship. Either Jesus is God Almighty or He is not. Secondary, subordinate gods/divine beings is polytheisim, not biblical.

Rev. 4-5 shows equality (right hand) and co-worship of Father and Lamb. If Jesus was Michael/created, He would not be equal with the Father nor worshipped with the same phrases by the angels. The same book says to worship God alone and not angels or men. Jesus is YHWH!
