True revival brings repentance, love, power, good. Godlessness brings evil and destruction. If the saints are revived, people are loved, served, and won to an eternal destiny change. You are still confusing God and Satan (and failing to appreciate that the God of love is also holy and a responsible Moral Governor who must deal with evil and triumph over it).

This convention blows
by Anony Mous inseriously, half day in (already had an argument with the wife this morning about individuality in the organization in which she conceded that a lot of it is based on looks) and this is already getting on my nerves.
i'll post a rebuttal based on my annotations later in the week but one thing i got to get off my mind: saying the feminist movement (women going to work instead of staying home) and the diversity laws (allowing for homosexuality - but also religious freedom, racial discrimination etc.
) caused a lot of the problems in our world right from the stage.. there are less people here than last year - about 500 less..

I am not concerned and rejoice that JWs are drifiting away. I am concerned that society is becoming more secular and godless and people are becoming faithless. We need a revival in the true Church of God (vs plodding of the cults) and spiritual awakening in society. This comes by His people seeking His face and a sovereign act of the Spirit. In revival, people are swept into the kingdom in large numbers without months of indoctrination (Pentecost all over again).

What is the most offensive/idiotic piece of WT literature you've read from the past 20 years (approximately)?
by Chemical Emotions ini think that some of the dumbest were ones that pertained to science- not all of them, but a few, particularly the ones about evolution.
the most offensive (and also dumbest) were the ones about women, and the ones about rape.
those were horrible.

Talk about hypocritical to attack Catholics on pedophilia. At least RC is finally taking some public responsibility compared to WT. WT is trying to protect assets and reputation over well being of victims (not to mention breaking the law for reporting to them vs police).

Can Un-baptized Be Apostates?
by Patty Cake inwhat is the currnent thought on this?
is the bethelite definition different now from the one in the congregations?.
i'm wondering because my bethelite brother suddenly was cold/ stopped talking to me a couple of years ago - after years of communication.

If guys from Sodom and G. are going to be resurrected (newer teaching), will I as a non-JW opposer who loves God but cannot swallow WT lies and errors also be raised or will I remain annihilated or get killed before Armageddon? Wicked people who hated God might get a second chance, but I might not because I could not see WT views in the Bible?
This is the basis, not WT Pharisaical rules: I Jn. 5:11-13 (cf. Jn. 3:16 vs Jn. 3:36).
Technically, an apostate is someone who falls away from truth (true follower of a religion). Someone who was a fake/fraud in the religion or opposer of it is simply a false believer/teacher, not an apostate. I am not an apostate from Islam if I have never been one (just because I am Christian). Apostates are former followers, not those who oppose or reject a religion without ever being part of it. WT may define it in an arbitrary way for their purposes, but let's stick with the biblical definition.

Do you believe in an annointed class?
by irondork inregarless of their identity - in fact, if they are really "discreet" their identity should probably remain unknown - do you believe the bible speaks of a spirit annointed class of folks, a limited number of humans that have been called to heaven to serve with jesus?.

God draws all men to God by influencing, persuading, wooing in love. It is not causative/coercive/unconditional/unilateral like Calvinism/TULIP/double predestination (unbiblical). I am a free will theist, not a deterministic Calvinist (double predestination was odious to Calvin, yet he believed it). I am anti-Calvinist, pro-Open Theism (www. opentheism.info).
God holds the universe together down to the atom. A canopy is not a problem for an omnipotent God. It is still speculative, plausible, not impossible. The water also came up from underground. A global flood (catastrophism) explains the evidence better than uniformitarianism (slow change over long periods).

The Bible Revelation is a fascinating book. WT butchers its interpretation (like reading 1935 Convention into a verse?!) showing they are not even good Bible students let alone receiving light from God Himself.

Actually, WT probably got the canopy from some older Christian thinkers/creation scientists. I think there is some possibility of this even as a UV barrier (without it, harmful rays would explain some of our negative things that did not exist in Paradise).

I must qualify that the NWT does not distort every verse and that one could theoretically find God or understand biblical principles by reading it. The most demonic thing is how they distort many of the Deity of Christ verses. This is a salvific issue, unlike blood, birthdays, Christmas, etc.
