jgnat lives about 45 minutes away. I live in the city. I can be all ears and no mouth when needed. I also once had a recorded phone line of concerned Christians pre-recorded messages for JWs. The person who took it over had a non-preachy support group of ex-JWs that I attended years ago. She has moved, but could put me in touch with one if it exists or mature individuals.

This convention blows
by Anony Mous inseriously, half day in (already had an argument with the wife this morning about individuality in the organization in which she conceded that a lot of it is based on looks) and this is already getting on my nerves.
i'll post a rebuttal based on my annotations later in the week but one thing i got to get off my mind: saying the feminist movement (women going to work instead of staying home) and the diversity laws (allowing for homosexuality - but also religious freedom, racial discrimination etc.
) caused a lot of the problems in our world right from the stage.. there are less people here than last year - about 500 less..

The Jesus I know, love, serve adores His Bride, the Church. He goes after the one sheep and leaves the 99. His love is lavish, personal, attentive, as if we are the only person on the planet (he would have died for one let alone billions). I also have a wife, kids, friends, co-workers. He is a jealous God in relation to false gods, but not in relation to legit relationships that He encourages. This is why cultic disfellowshipping/shunning is so destructive and evil.
Mrfreeze, thx for your concern. When Karl Barth, theologian, was asked what the most profound truth he learned was, he quoted the child's Sunday School song: Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
You are searching for love. You are searching for Jesus. Would you like to give your life to Him? He is God, not Michael, BTW.

So, you cannot put the WT literature in a box because of spouse? I would not go near it until grounded in the Bible apart from it. I would also not allow this to ruin your marriage. Save it at all costs except putting religion before God (follow God, not WT).

The software at work is blocking your links as malacious content. I see you are mature. Can I follow you as a guru?

I decided not to go back to the KH
by Bucholz inwell, as i mentioned before in one of my few other posts, i've been lurking here for some time now and finally decided it was time to face the facts and take action.. i was raised a jw (4th generation) and my parents were quite zealous when they got married.
mom was a regular pioneer and dad was a ms. i was the little jw 'rockstar' in my congregation, got baptized at 10, was giving talks and serving as an attendant at the hall and at conventions at such an early age.
auxiliary pioneered whenever i could.

When a JW asks where they will go if WT is wrong or uncertain (they think it is better to stay with what they know despite the problems), the answer is Jn. 14:6 (a person vs organization). Go to Jesus, not the Catholic Church or WT organization. Jesus calls us to Him and WT has usurped this by making themselves a mediator on par with God (practically).

Refuting Franz's Crisis of Conscience
by irondork ini'm about halfway through crisis of conscience.
some pretty extraordinary stuff in there.. wondering, aside from telling people not to read "apostate material", has there been any official denial or refutation of the books contents by the watchtower society, official or otherwise?.
side note: franz is a wonderful writer, if a bit repetitive in places.

30 years likely felt like 50 years. There are few things more exciting than a dead cultist coming alive in Christ. I agree that JW expert is clueless. The verse about eating/drinking is about faith in Christ alone, not about leaving a supposed organization-mediator?! The evil slave thing is another twisting of Scripture as well as the implication that God cannot feed us from the Word without the shoddy teachings of WT (I Jn. 2 applies in that we do not need false gnostic teachers when we have the indwelling spirit which they deny to the rank/file).

poff: you are displaying ignorance of Pauline theology and its strong Christological roots. He learned about the historical Jesus from the apostles and met him personally as He encountered the risen Christ. Try F.F. Bruce's 'Paul: Apostle of the Heart Set Free' to fill in your gaps. Jesus is not dead, but risen! He died for me; I will live for Him. 'Follow me' (Paul also said to follow him as he follows Christ...so, follow me as I follow him and reject anything I say that is contrary to Scripture).
There is a lack of hunger and thirst for God in the land. This is why things are so wicked and messed up. Thankfully, hundreds of millions are coming to know Him. You can too.

They are exerting mind control on you. If you are still interested in the things of God, you need to prayerfully get into the Bible and not think you need the WT to interpret it or act as a mediator. There is a wealth of material to bring down the demonic WT, but you may find it easier to default to a comfort zone or give in to a spirit of manipulation/deception. You have come this far. Keep going. If I still wanted God, but knew WT was a false prophet, I would seek God apart from WT. Once you conclude that Jesus is YHWH, the truth will set you free, you will be born again, and have hope/assurance of eternal life that WT can never give.

Rev. 6:1-2 He made the mistake of thinking because Jesus comes on a white horse at His Second Coming in Rev. 19:11 that Rev. 6:1-2 must also refer to Him. However, context is the key. A white horse is a symbol of victory, but Hitler or Churchill could ride one. Roman generals (bad guys) would ride a white horse in victory with their captives following. The chronology is wrong since Christ returns as a conqueror to earth at the end vs beginning of the Tribulation (Daniel's 70th week). The riders on the other horses in Rev. 6 also relate to destruction and judgment which precede the Second Coming/Christ by some period of time.
A better view is that the conqueror here is the future world ruler, the Antichrist (Dan. 9:26). He has a bow without an arrow indicating that the world gov't that he establishes is done without warfare (cf. Rev. 13:4). The future world gov't begins with a time of peace but is soon followed by destruction (I Thess. 5:3). The seals, trumpets, bowls of divine wrath are judgments climaxing in the Second Coming of Christ (forget the 1914 invisible nonsense).
So, Rev. 6 pictures the Antichrist (anti=against; instead of; counterfeit), while Rev. 19 pictures the true Christ.
This is not the end of the world since some Christian commentators also have made this mistake. There were worse interpretations in Losch's lecture relating to Daniel and Rev.
