there are several persistent misconceptions that have been repeated almost to the point where they've become common knowledge in xjw circles.

i don't know how this happens or why, but if you're going to discuss doctrine with a jw, i think it is important to understand what they believe, when they believed it and why.. i hope nobody thinks i'm being a pain in the neck for pointing these out because that's not my intent.

all the jw's i know will reject your entire line of thought if you commit even one tiny technical error regardless of whether this affects your conclusion or not.. with that in mind, here are three:.

This is yet another thing, I didn't mention.....about my post the other day about Jesus and Paul.....when looking at the big picture and 'coincidences'.

There is soooooooooooo much hidden and unknown by everyone, at the same time, it definitely can't be a 'perfect' conspiracy from men for thousands of years!

Also the thread I mentioned why some scriptures say Egypt is God's people, Assyria his sword, and Israel his chosen.

Hope some understand why I'm evasive while getting answers and researching, because what was just posted, could destroy people's faith in Jesus, in what he taught. If there is a lie or cover somewhere, at what point? Is his message true?

How to respond to "Whoelse is preaching the good news worldwide?"

this scripture stands out to me...... 1 cor 1:17-21 for christ dispatched me, not to go baptizing, but to go declaring the good news, not with wisdom of speech, that the torture stake of the christ should not be made useless.. 18 for the speech about the torture stake is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is gods power.

19 for it is written: i will make the wisdom of the wise [men] perish, and the intelligence of the intellectual [men] i will shove aside.

20 where is the wise man?

To add to last comment........preaching IS needed, but should be to get a 'foundation', to PLANT THE SEED, then let GOD water it. All scriptures in the bible show that HE instructs, HE sets path straight. Plant the seed, get them started, but don't enslave them.

The ethiopian snippet can have a very DIFFERENT meaning.....

James 1:5 - "If any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep on asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching; and it will be given him. But let him keep on asking in FAITH, NOT DOUBTING AT ALL, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about. INFACT....Let NOT that man suppose that he will RECEIVE ANYTHING from Jehovah. "

Now, back to the ethiopian snippet, he had ZERO faith he could understand the prophecy without A MAN showing him! So....he was given 'milk'. That's why Paul asks when those in the congregation will stop being babes and take on whole spiritual food.

The GB twists that whole experience, to keep everyone on their milk for their whole lives. To never take personal responsibility for serving God, to excersise their own conscious and to make the truth their own, to prove for themselves if they will serve God as an adult, or if they will be as reckless kids who go crazy without the firm controlling rule of a human parent.

Ever notice how those in the WT, who had super strict parents, went crazy the day they hit 18 because they were not allowed to grow up? Same thing within the WT. Instead of going to the bible, on 'conscious' matters, it's lets see if it's in the WT, if not, then I can do it.

Question about Bethel post 1980

since i have finished reading coc as well articles from randy during the purge at bethel around 1980, i was wondering what kind of changes were made if any to try and prevent such independent thinking or study .... also, i can't help but wonder if the organization makes gb members and/or others sign some kind of non-disclosure agreements to prevent repeats of tell alls from bethelites and higher-ups.. any thoughts or information about this?.

Read all of the WT's and KM's, at that point, they had MAJOR MAJOR changes about disfellowshipping, WHO can be dfed, and how they are to be treated. As deserving of death. AND anybody who associates or even says hello to one is to be DFed too. It was a GRAND SCHEME OF TWISTING SCRIPTURES.

The basic pattern you'll see is this.....................First scriptures about those who were doing fornication WORSE then even the nations, and who 'call' themselves a brother but PRACTICE those things. (clearly somebody who had no intention to change the big sins bible condemns), they use those scriptures to say that disfellowshipping must be done. And is scriptual.

THEN they use the scripture on those who are weak or sick, to go to the older men, so they may pray and grease their head and get healing. (That is CLEARLY those who know they have a problem, who are NOT wanting to practice it, who ARE obviosly repentant, they are to try to build them up) BUT they use that as an excuse to JUDGE anybody who does anything.

THEN they go on some scriptures about those who deviate from the truth, or cause divisions. (This is from the BIBLE and GOD'S TRUTH), but they use that as anything against the WT doctrine.

THEN they also show scriptures about those who did adultry in the OLD testament being stoned to death.

THEN there is the scripture about not even eating or giving a greeting to the ones who are purposely and unrestrictively doing the above mentioned)

So we have 5 completely different issues here, but they twist and turn them into one overall part. From those things, the message and twist happens this way.........

In the bible, the early christians did disfellowshipping. See how this guy who committed fornication was cast out. Then given counsel not to even eat or talk with such a person. In ancient times, they not only ignored them, but as you can see, they would stone them to death. But EVIDENTLY satans law did not allow that, so they just treated them as they were dead. We need to uphold Jehovah's righteousness, so we must also do that. Now when somebody commits a serious sin, as you see in this scripture, they must go to the older men to pray for spiritual healing. So obviously, they had a judical committee back then. If they are repentant enough, then they get some counsel. Sometimes they need to be removed from the congregation for awhile to get better healing. Now the elders, even though not all annointed, pray for holy spirit. They do this before making any judgements. So one can view this counsel and decision as not from men, but from JEhovah himself. If one is out of the congregation, then Jehovah views them as spiritually dead, and if they are brought back, then they have his acceptance again. While one is out, they are guilty of being non repenant and gross sinners, so one must avoid any association or talk with them. The bible says not even EATING OR SAYING A GREETING to such a one. And here is a scripture that says something about sharing in their sin if your with them. So EVIDENTLY, if one was to say hello, they would be guilty of what that person was guilty of, and also have to be disfellowshipped. So, ALL who are disfellowshipped, are guilty of either gross sin, or apostacy against Jehovah himself, because it's proven this is his earthly organization and any against any part of it, are against Jehovah himself. On top of all of this, if somebody was to disassociate himself, he would be also guilty of apostacy, since this is definitely Jehovah's truth, and any disagreeing with us, are disagreeing with him and trying to show an indepedant spirit for not taking our word on what the bible says.

Now, Ray Franz, was not agreeing and trying to cause division within the society. But we didn't have any articles on that, and since he could expose us, we are devoting a year to these articles. We know he is speaking to a ex brother who also did not agree with us, and since he disassocaited himself, we can play with some scriptures to show that speaking with a disassociated one is also able to be disfellowshipped. Since we know have everyone brainwashed into thinking ANYBODY disfellowshipped, is tto be treated as the one in the bible who willingly is wanting to PRACTICE gross sin, even worse then among nations.....since Ray Franz isn't going along with us anymore, we can have him treated the same way for thinking people should read the bible and let God influence them more.

Eternal life for flesh and blood creatures

i was explaining the basic teachings to a non-witness coworker the other day and we began talking about the incident in the garden of eden.

i told him that according to the society, if adam and eve had not sinned, the world today would be full of perfect human beings who never die.. he then asked "what about the animal kingdom?

would they be mortal and grow old and die and if so, how would god explain that to humans?".

According to many parts of the bible, AND other writings not in the canon........Jesus himself said NO FLESH can INHERIT the kingdom. You MUST be BORN AGAIN. Some are born of flesh, and some are born as spirit. Then Apostle Paul couldn't wait for a release from his 'fleshly' body, and was running the race for the 'greater calling' to share in 'divine nature'. Then there is the scripture on man being appointed to die, ONCE, for all time, THEN a resurrection/judgement. So to me, reading those scriptures, means that being born again means a real actual death, then being reborn as a spirit. (or for those of the annointed/ elect)

In Book of Enoch I think, God says how humans were never meant to live forever, flesh is appointed to die, and that is why he gave them wives. However angels, those of spirit, CAN"T DIE. And how when they mated with human girls, the 1/2 spirit, 1/2 flesh monsters. When they died, their flesh was gone, but their spirit is stuck on earth and THEY are the demons. The rebellious angels who did that, were cast in the abyss and are still imprisoned there.

Makes sense, in the way of being in harmony with many parts of the bible. It does not make sense on living forever on the earth, etc.

This may clear a few things up, but I already know the billion questions it will raise, and pretty much this line of thinking adds a whole new dimension of possibilities, but also explains how originally going to heaven, etc, began to be understood.

Would taking the Harp book from the KH library be stealing?
