OTWO - did you even read those 2 horrible articles you linked? The first one says this...."Contrary to popular belief, chameleons cannot display limitless colors and do not change colors in a camouflage response to their surroundings. Instead, their skin changes in response to temperature, light, and mood." So the first article is denying that chameleons even camouflage themselves.
The next article you posted admits that they do, but that they feel the origin of that ability was a communication need.
So which of the two do you believe? I guess you were betting I wouldn't read, but it's obvious you didn't read it yourself or you wouldn't of posted two articles that don't agree with each other.
The 2nd article, national geographic, said because they did one experiment using fake stuffed bird and a fake snake, that chameleons didn't evolve their color changing ability for camouflage. Wow, it sounds like a middle school science experiment and you are just going to accept that as fact? That little test, let's close the book on the issue now.
That's like the WT quoting the faithful slave scripture and applying it to themselves, no questions asked.
