Mobile Hotspot - JWFACTS.COM - Assembly & Conventions
by thedepressedsoul inhere is an idea i tested.
works at both assemblies and conventions.
i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.

Why Do You No Longer Believe in God?
by Tenacious ini know this question has popped up from time to time but i really would like to know how you guys, those that no longer believe, came to that conclusion?
was it the wts and all its crap?
was it something you read?

Please show me those calculations.

Awesome, name a computer program that evolved on it's own.
Google is your friend
How is that relevant to your assertion?

So you 'think' so I'm clearly wrong. A lot more than just 2 people have 'thought' you are wrong too so with everything you've ever said you are clearly wrong! And Viv doesn't count, she'll claim the opposite of anything you say whether right or wrong. -

DNA is not a programme, it has no information or instructions of any kind.
Wow, for being Mr. Science, to say DNA has 'no information or instructions' of any kind do you even know what DNA is or does? Let's look at a textbook definition of it..... "is a molecule that carries(STORES INFORMATION) most of the genetic INSTRUCTIONS used in the development, functioning and reproduction of all known livingorganisms and many viruses." Actually I should have just told you to read a basic 5th grade science book to understand DNA then get back to me.

The middle east wars - religion/power/creed
Prior to modern day, war would have really began due to survival. As tribes grew, space and resources ran out, who got the food? Who got the fresh water? etc.
Then there became nations, large tribes and protecting if they had resources or taking from another if they ran out.
Then greed and power from kings, if all was well, they wanted more. Or to further secure and expand by conquering and making survivors allies so no longer a threat.
Then religions, ones like some islam ones that teach to conquer non believers or kill those who leave the faith.
Nationalism - Hitler - remove non natives from the country, keep pure blood. This type may resurface with mass immigration into Europe. Those on certain race/ethnicities being breed out of existence, etc.
In the end many reasons for wars.

You're comparing something that happens and evolves due to physics to something that's created with a specific purpose and cannot evolve.
Computer programs absolutely can evolve! And it's only a matter of time before one is made that will be similar to a newborn child in which it's able to constantly take in information and learn and execute it's own made up decisions. We have the hard drive space capacities to house all the information and code needed, processing speed, etc. AND from not many years ago when such conditions would have been a computer the size of an entire building it's all small enough to be contained into robotics. If you have a kinect, that's technology with a computer using a camera (eye) as well as vocal and able to respond.

Headline: "Islamic Invasion: Europe now scrambles for guns." How true is this?
by cappytan ina year to a year and a half ago, i would have taken this article at face value and believed it.. now, i realize this article comes from a dubious source.
world news daily has a die-hard right-wing bias.
so, in an effort to get real information, i'm asking my european exjw's, is this article all true?

It is very legit. As was posted in Sweden they are starting to have many problems. Look up "sharia law london" and you'll see some areas with high concentrations they are trying to impose sharia law. (this happening before refugee crisis). There are news reports of ISIS defectors who returned and gave interviews to avoid punishment, etc. In Syria near Turkey border a report w/ pictures of shaved beards and how ISIS dressing as women to get in. Look up reports about the immigration camps, where they are forcing sharia law and the various refugees, shitties and sunni fighting, etc, and having to be kept separate. NO checks on the immigrants, so the smart ISIS who know their day is about over in Syria fleeing or returning.
Now what does that all mean? At the very least they have reports of violence and problems going on so most wanting guns may be just for protection from increased violence and problems and if any isis try to start causing chaos and random violence. I doubt any think they would be able to just suddenly rise and take over all of Europe since at least very few if any weapons will pass checkpoints and those jumping fences might get small arms in if any. But with so many there, a long term effect can be breeding and natural Europeans becoming minority or pressures and slowly bringing in sharia law as is happening in England.
AND non of the refugees are going to any other "Islamic" countries. It's funny they hate the Islamic countries, don't want to live in them, but then once going to a free country want to practice sharia law.

Since I mentioned it, here is the article I posted awhile back, http://ds9a.nl/amazing-dna/ "Dna through the eyes of a programmer". I thought the article was amazingly done and had a great way of explaining how I view DNA as well being a programmer.
One other article that explains my viewpoint can be seen here, http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/issuesideas/story.html?id=8f7f51f2-a196-4677-9399-46f4f17b5b61

What a strange thing to say. The strongest evidence for unguided evolution is to be found in genetic research.
Having done computer programming for several years, I'll attempt to explain why genetic research amplifies my belief in a creator rather than the opposite.
DNA and genetics operate so closely to computer programming you can view them as a computer program. I linked an article about that awhile ago.
Once you design a computer program, you can automate many features and have the entire program fully automated and even self replicating (computer virus), etc. Once the foundation is created, you can sit back and let it do it's thing.
Also when computers were made, somebody didn't just post java, asp, c++, etc code onto the hard drive and the computer knew what to do. The infrastructure, platforms, etc all had to be developed else it would just be random text in a text file that did nothing.
Understanding how programming works and knowing how genetics and DNA and how DNA turns from code/instructions into the billions of life forms on Earth, I see it working as biological computers and biological code.
It's now inevitable since as of today we have the technology and all conditions needed present, that one day a smart enough programmer will create a program of advanced AI perhaps to the point it becomes self aware and that program will on it's own go on to do many great things. Either creating other programs or if implemented into robotics far exceed what any human could do. Nothing will ever change the fact that it's life started with intelligent design.
So that's why, whether a supreme cosmic power or another biological life form that either started life processes on Earth and let them automate themselves, or if a previous world exploded and DNA floated through space landing on Earth, to me w/ the limits of what is known now my conclusion is still the origin of life on Earth was from another intelligent life.

Science is constantly changing. 50 years from now what is taught now may be 'old light'.
With all the advances in science, still no 'fact' answer on where we came from and how we and all life on Earth came to be, just theories.
The order of science, the code of genetics and DNA, I'm still more leaned towards belief we came from a creator. A creator could be an all powerful supernatural force that created the universe down to an advanced biological lifeform which wouldn't explain the origin of life but take us a step closer.
If as most religions and faiths teach, that an all powerful creator and we are being tested, in line with OP's post, the scripture talking about God allowing things to see into the heart, the lack of concrete evidence that would make the entire world unable to dispute him and direct commands of his, I could see the wisdom in if he was going to award eternal life, one way to see into a heart is allowing people to doubt his existence or him caring at all what they do, freeing one to be as good or bad as they choose.
