How do you feel about the expression "The Truth"?
by stuckinarut2 init's amazing how the expression "the truth" has become such an ingrained term used by witnesses.. "we have 'the truth'".
"is he 'in the truth'?".
most here have found out so many facts about the organisation, and felt the effects of being "gut-punched" as we realised these facts.. so how do you feel about the expression "the truth" now?.

Such a flawed concept. Even though what is taught in 1910, 1950, 1990, 2000, 2015 are all completely different they are all part of 'the truth'. Today what is 'the truth' is tomorrows apostate teachings. -

How do I handle this situation?
by BarelyThere inhey everyone.
i'm sorry that this isn't a very thought provoking post but i could really use some advice on how to handle this.
there isn't anyone else in my life i can ask right now because, being dfed, all of my friends are "worldly" and don't know how witnesses function.

If you've been to every meeting the past 6+ months and nothing happening then call to talk w/ elders.
Also depends if any of the elders are nice good people or not. Some halls have good ones who care and believe in what they do then you have the power hungry ahole ones.
Can show the messages by telling how it happened. You checked your email in one of your email accounts that you only periodically check. Saw facebook notifications for an account you had made for ex and assumed he'd not being using it anymore. Logged in and saw those messages. Tell them you're trying to get reinstated and those messages discouraged and you want to know what they think of your progress and if the MS statements are felt among elders if you should contact Bethel or switch halls. Actually even if switching halls is better due to the general people in the hall, would still want it resolved beforehand else the elders might send a bad report that makes it take much longer to get reinstated.

Im sick of my life
by BlackWolf insorry but i really feel like i need to rant right now.
recently my dad was made an elder so my family has been doing a lot more "theocratic" activities lately.
every morning i wake up and put on my itchy dress and stupid makeup and heels and then pretend that i love what i'm doing and that everybody is my friend when in reality i feel horrible and all the other teenage girls at my hall hate me for some reason.

This would be my advice, first, if you haven't already, try to contact your aunt. Any other non jw relatives you may have somewhat nearby.
Do as good in school as you can, you want to try to get scholarships, etc. If any program to start college in junior or senior year try for that as well. Apply for all scholarships! One thing that stinks is even though a pell grant can get you through community college if you have no income, if you're under 23/24 then your parents income can void that, even if you don't live with them and even if they aren't giving you a penny. So try real hard to get scholarships!!
Keep contact w/ aunt/etc by email and don't let your parents know, as you know might get shunned or problems. But when you talk to aunt, etc, try to explain the situation, see if it's possible to be a roomate. You can work part time and do college. You pretty much just need to get through college, depending what you want to do, I suggest a 4 year + degree for better long term but an AS is something specialized is better than nothing. You MIGHT also be able to get your parents to agree to an AS, seems society is okay with AS degrees since short and give a technical school. Then you could move out or go onto BS degree.
While in college try to get a job in something related. Once you graduate from college, if you chose the right major and able to get work then you should be fairly independent and able to support yourself.
IF YOU DON'T DO something similar as stated above......then these could be the scenarios. Parents will push you to pioneer/etc, if you follow what your parents want you won't get college and they'll want you to marry a jw guy. You will be dependent on them or who you marry. If you play along, didn't do college, etc, then if they decide to kick you out or you go crazy and cling to anybody who will take you, even if not a right match.
You have a good chance since you woke up now to have a really good life and future ahead. I really started to wake up when I was 29, got a plan and started fixing my life when 32, I'll have my BS in another 1.5 years (When should have had it over 10 years ago. Better late than never but I lost many good years)

'Worldly' man looking for a little more understanding...
by Verecocha insaw similar title in a google search so thought i'd read more and now simply have to share my experience if anything to hear that i'm not insane and it is that simple.. met and fell madly in love with a witness, and her with me.
what began as love at first sight turned into a 6 year relatiomship which simply ended very bluntly.
there were many painful twists and turns along the way, first from her inability to leave her husband, then my mistake in finding someone else as i simply couldn't take the pain of her coming and going with such simplicity, but in the end she got a divorce and suffered many consequences within 'the truth', and i sorted my issues which were many and admittedly dug with my own hands and stupidity in trying to protect a young girl who had done no wrong in this long affair.. eventually we found ourself on what i believed to be the home straight.

I'd never get involved nor think it's right to to anybody who is married, unless they are already separated. If you do, then your relationship will eventually be doomed as well.
Few reasons, if looking elsewhere should break it off with them, not wait until a replacement is secured, using that person then leave them. Also if they do that to meet/be with you, then if you ended up with them you'll always know or suspect in your relationship downs that they'll be looking.
And as you just learned, you had your time wasted and pretty much got played. You were probably just her 'crutch' to be used when needed. She was already married. Whatever ordeal in her life and with her religion she got to the point she doesn't need you anymore so cuts the cord and gets you to agree to keep it a secret.
For the religious angle, hard to tell if the JW side really had anything to do with this or not.

WT Study 1/10/16 Encouraging Child Baptism And More Nonsense
by JW_Rogue ini've noticed that each wt lesson really only has one or two points they want remembered.
normally they build up to these by about the third subheading.
this week's lesson though was different, the main point was insidiously made through an experience in the first paragraph:.

“But,” she adds, “we also knew that as teenagers our children would face many challenges."
AKA get them baptized before they are teens so if they "play around" they will get dfed and shunned at age 14/15.

But when did racism and hatred become socially acceptable? Is this the Trump affect? The man says hateful, racist nonsense and his poll numbers continue to rise.
Your first question is one of the problems. Thankfully Islam/Muslim is not a race, it's a religion and political ideology. While Trump has made some bold statements, some of the so called real bad ones have been taken out of context. I was shocked at some things I heard so looked up the whole story and things were twisted.
This past year and ongoing 'political correctness' is at it's wits end with many people when problems are continuing to rise and 'political correctness' deems the best solution is to ignore them and allow lies to spread. The longer a lie is spread, repeated, and unchallenged then eventually many will believe the lie is a fact. That is why a certain "culture" not race but "culture" feels they are being attacked and systematically killed by a certain 'race' when all statistics and facts show that to be absolutely not true. But it's been allowed to be said, unchallenged, and now the statistics are showing the exact opposite of what that 'culture' claims is happening and on the rise.
It would be one thing if every culture, religion, and belief WANTED to intermingle and become a one world culture/accept all and everything and be 'good people'. Unfortunately some cultures and religions do not want that and some of their beliefs cause big problems when mixed with others and ignoring and pretending it doesn't exist is not helping it.

Why don't people believe Facts?
by The Rebel ini have enjoyed some fascinating debates on the forum.
i have found it interesting when" facts" have been presented to support a viewpoint, yet the " facts" have then been rejected.. what does this mean?.
well the " truth" is as a dub, i was often presented with " facts" that the organisation was wrong, yet as this information challenged my belief system i convinced myself the " facts" were either completely wrong or misinterpreted, .

How many so called facts have changed through out history? How many things are presented as facts on this forum that are still not 100% certain nor been observed?
Is it a fact that the sky is blue and the sun is yellow? Actually no the sky isn't blue and the sun is not yellow.

Since coming out of the WT org and closed off to politics my whole life, only in the past few years have I learned about politics and what liberal and conservative, etc, mean. I must say I've come to really dislike far left liberals and think they are complete idiots! They are to blame for opening the gates of Europe to let the flow of so called refugees go in unchecked.
The problem with liberals is that they even though intentions may be good (equality for everybody, help everybody, etc), they are utopian and unrealistic. Let EVERYBODY in, they will be good, all people are good. "Let's not worry about jobs, about who will pay for it, about potential crime, about ISIS sneaking in, everything will be just fine. Let's let EVERYBODY in the worst parts of the world come in then the whole world will be fixed and happy!"
Meanwhile in German, gangs of the nice refugees gang raping on NYE, the OP posts, in London the Muslim districts trying to force sharia law, rapes and crime majorly increasing in Sweden, entry points in Greece out of control and overrun, and attacks starting such as in France, the train, etc.
