Well, in the case of Sam Herd they went to the point of photo-shopping him into a picture with another witness in service and featuring it on a magazine article, so I'm sure appearances are very much important to them. Pharisees! -

After 2 years my parents make contact. The end result is that I promise them to cryogenically preserve ONLY their heads
by paulmolark init has been 2 and a half years since my departure from the religion.
i was told by my parents from the start that i would never speak to them until i returned to jehovah dog.
a few months later they told people they hoped i died before the end came, then all of this culminating in them telling my inactive / fading sister that they don't consider me a child anymore and they have given me up to satan.

Maybe lots of others with estranged families due to the shunning policy will now be getting the phone call ultimatums.
I agree with you that the coincidence of the "return to the flock" brochure release and Paul's situation makes one think so.
Wouldn't you doubt that the WTS is really sincere about welcoming back their lost sheep? Their abusive, controlling ways is what drives a lot of folks away from their religion in the first place.

@paulmolark
Ah, I just read your reply right after my previous post and made a wrong connection. My bad.
I must say, though, I've always agreed with Oubliette that the WTS is a cult. A dangerous and hurtful, mind wrecking cult. And many of us have suffered to one extreme or another its abuses and controlling ways. Shame on all their hypocritical shepherds that abuse the flock rather than care for it.

Sorry Paul, you've got me pegged wrong.
Didn't mean to hit on any of your nerves. I'd rather "hit" the WT where it can hurt it best, and I believe that's helping others to wake up to their shenanigans and mind control.
BTW. I do hold a doctorate's degree.
Alas! It is not in "psychology."
Nevertheless I wish you well.

Wether she is mentally deranged or cult controlled is not my concern.
Paul, I'm sorry you suffered so much because of your parents.
I hope you continue to make a good life for yourself and your children.

Latest on Otuo v Jonathan David Morely & Watchtower Bible and Tract Society + Otuo v Watchtower Bible & Tract Society
by Adwoa Kromo ina month ago someone inquired about where the case against watchtower in otuo v watchtower was at currently.
firstly the claimant has brought two separate claims against the watchtower .
case 1 relates to a suit in slander premised on the words , "frank otuo is no longer a jehovah witness".

Let them try to fight dirty in the courts.
Everything is on record.
They'll find themselves openly and embarrassingly exposed.
Every legal case helps to storm the Tower.
Yup! Storm the Tower; starve the beast!

No, Paul. I'm saying that they're victims of WT control. As you have been mentally, emotionally and even physically.
The WT is a selfish, disgusting drug pusher. The publishers in each congregation are its junkies.
Help take its junkies away and you hurt their business.

You do know that they're under control, mentally and emotionally, to the WT.
With this knowledge you may find it in your heart to see beyond their cultish behavior and focus on exposing the JW religion for what it really is, a harmful, cult that destroys families and individuals' lives, devours them for its own profit.
If you can help just one person not get trapped in this cult, or come out of it, you can help starve the WT beast.

Well, since my great-grand-father was born after Freddie Franz I guess we're technically in the same WT generation by some Twilight Zone reasoning from WT writers, whose bright idea by the way, the GeeBee members just love. -

Everything seems to be changing... why not birthdays?
by StarTrekAngel inif we look at all doctrines, we see an overall effort to conserve unity and control.
- assuming most birthdays, if allowed, would probably be oriented to children, then that means 40 celebrations per year.
so all in all, this give a total potential attendance to a birthday of 30 families (120 attendance / 4 family members).

@punkofniceDefinitely! If the GB wants kids' ice-cream money how much more the money that would have gone for b'day presents.
Bunch of greedy money grabbers that they are!
