  crowds celebrating bastille day in nice, france have been targeted by a terrorist driving a truck.. initial reports of 60 dead and 100 injured.. i am losing track of how many similar attacks there have been in europe in recently..

  We make religious leaders print and sign their beliefs and hold them to account if anyone does evil because they follow them or is tolerated if they claim not to.

  That's the way to deal with the fundamentalist terror in religion.
  --Or any other loud mouth that breathes murder and violence for whatever reason.
  If you incite to violence you should be held responsible!

  What devastating news, though! What can citizens with guns do against a truck mowing down civilians? I feel so very sad for the victims and their families!

  i was watching serena win yet another wimbledon title recently (congrats to her) but it got me to thinking about her for a moment.

  she identifies herself as a jw and if you look up any info on her it will tell you that her religion is jw so that means that she herself and the rest of the world identifies her as a jw.. for those of us who are df'd as well as those of you who are about to be df'd what is the reason?

  and what is the main difference between a df and a fade away?

  The 0rg instructs elders to make an investigative shepherding call on anyone claiming to be a JW who is not abiding by current JW standards of doctrine.

  If they don't claim to be a JW and have faded for years then the elders are counseled to let the matter be "held in abeyance".

  Up until the later half of the 1980's, I believe, a non-baptized member of the congregation could be "disassociated" and shunned if they were found to have been guilty of a ''disfellowhipping'' offense.

  Then there came ''new light'', probably because of legal problems, that a non-baptized member of the congregation could only be announced as "no longer a publisher" and didn't get shunned to the N'th degree, no but, just seen as "bad association".

  Would all those who'd previously gotten ''disassociated'' and shunned now be un-shunned? No.
  Such is the WT's new light. (As in less-filling, must be ;- )

  6 and i heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, a measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.. this prophecy starts to be true in south europe bethels..... according to our sources, bethel families have been asked to reduce their food allowance and even been informed that monthly contribution might not be paid.. meantime, one of these branches is sending millions of € every year as donation to other wt structures, not to mention the 7 digit number on their bank account.

  bethel members are not blind ;).

  Most witnesses enjoy the social aspect of large gatherings...the program just gets in the way of socialising!

  Amen to that!

  I just can't sit through three days of this Cult indoctrination and re-education program any more. My wife will be going with a group of sisters to the Regional, I'm skipping this one, and TGFT!

  The guidelines/requirements when you "apply" to pay for the privilege of attending these international conventions is exceedingly cultish. The WT makes out big-time too! All these tours are way pricey and of course there are lots of freebie trips that get included and paid for by the R&F international delegates, folks like well connected CO's, and of course the GB'ers who are given the celebrity treatment.

  Well...it did happen. But he always finds excuses for the Borg no matter what he said before. ☹️

  When we're asleep in the Cult we're able to perform some amazing mental acrobatics!

  The dissonance can be amazing and very strong, yet the Cult mentality deals with it by accepting a duplicitous reality, there's the truth and then there's The Truth.

  A while back when the magazine pages were going to be cut back, as we heard it first here. I posted on Facebook saying I wished the magazines had fewer pages because I couldn't keep up with reading all of the articles. I was barraged by a lot of super-dubs who told me in no uncertain terms that it was spiritual food I was refusing and it was a sign of a weak spirituality.

  Well, the next week the news about the magazine size reduction hit Facebook and at the same time more than a dozen JW FB friends unfriended me!
