  i'm going to be honest and from the heart when i say that for 40 years in the jw religion i was very happy in my ignorance!

  man, what a trip it was.

  i loved every minute of it but then i was absent the bad in my religion.

  Welcome, HMTM.

  I still attend as well, for family reasons. When I woke up I went through a lot of soul searching and questioning. I came to see the trinity teaching as not something that prevents one from being saved through faith by God's grace. Wheat grows among weeds and that's ok by me, there's a lot of good people out there and none are perfect just like me and you, and we are all searching to know ourselves better as we try to make sense of the world we live in. Wouldn't you agree?

  Inactive ones are not JWs

  years ago, the insinuation was often presented, that those who were inactive were actually not witnesses at all.

  the point being made was that ''...winesses is a verb, not a noun...''.

  i know there were published assertions to this end in the older books and magazines, with possibly even quotes from the likes of rutherford or knorr ,.

  If you want to be inactive and not be held to judicial action by any JW committee, just send the congregation you were last an active member of a letter saying you are exercising your legal right to leave the so-and-so congregation but that your letter of resignation as a member of this congregation is not to be regarded as somehow no longer in association with other JW's.

  You are separating yourself legally from this congregation and reserve the right to join another JW congregation when you find one that you feel would better meet your spiritual needs. Since you are not breaking association with JW's you will consider any effort or threat by the JW elders to disfellowship you as reason to take legal action (as supported in the U.S. by legal precedents such as GUINN V THE CHURCH OF CHRIST OF COLLINSVILLE decision by the Supreme Court of Oklahoma, January 1989 and THE NORMAN HANCOCK LAWSUIT of Mesa AZ 1985) to defend your good name and reputation without fear of intimidation or retribution.

  I don't think I've ever heard of their sending you a letter for a JC, usually you'll get told verbally.

  With two questions, i recieved two lies from some cart witnesses.

  today i walked up to a group of cart witnesses and picked up a watchtower.

  i opened the watchtower up to the first page , and asked one of the witnesses if he had read it.. lie # 1... he said he read it.. i ask my second question to a woman witness sitting next to him , who by the way was hard to tear away from her cell phone..... "whats this watchtower about?

  , "........ lie # 2 ... she said she read it , but forgot "exactly" what the main points were about..

  did you catch their math about the 8 GB members and one dying so that now there's 9 left?

  I know we witnesses aren't supposed to go to college, but maybe paying attention during elementary math classes may have been helpful, 8 - 1 = 7 not 9.

  Does everyone here know they are on record with JW's forever?

  richard ashe a full-time special servant of the order of jehovah's witnesses testified in the lopez case that every single disfellowshipping and disassociation and other things have all been scanned in 2011 and are and will be on permanent record with jw's forever.

  is this legal?

  another completely ironic and warped thing is the disfellowshipping form is called the s77 form.

  If an inactive publisher moves and the former elders find out which congregation the person moved to, they'll forward the address and name of the person to the new local congregation elders to make a call on the inactive and "discern" their situation. That's the usual procedure from what was practiced in the BOE when I was an elder.
