A funny moment... lol

when the rnwt was released, we were invited to go to the local assembly hall.. there was a sister right next to me and she started bragging that it was her 8th year in an annual meeting.

(typical thing, all spiritual).

when was time to sing, i listened to her beautiful voice.

i have noticed that in florida at least i see at every flea market and or town square jws sitting drinking coffee with a table and a couple of sandwich signs with watchtowers and awakes doing nothing more than playing on their phones and or talking to each other.

i have not yet seen anyone going up to them and engaging them but i bet they are counting time.

what a cheat.

Hey, if given the choice back when I too would have opted to sit at a display table in a flea market and drank coffee instead of knocking on empty houses or waking up people who work at night or were sick from work that day--heck yeah. lazy or not. :-)

Witnesses called for a bible study

hello all.. i haven't been here for some time to post as mainly i read the comments and such.

yesterday was a really interesting, unnerving experience though.

two sisters had called last week when i had an abscess on my tooth and was sort of sick from it.

Ask them if they are there to share the good news with you.

Then ask them to read you Galatians 1:8, 9 because the good news is what's important to a follower of Christ. The apostle Paul says this is very serious.

Tell them you know about their literature and how it says announcing Jehovah's Kingdom, but you are really interested in the Good News of the Bible not what some magazine says. How is this the good news of the Bible that Paul talked about?

Ask them if they can tell you what exactly are the good news they preach.

Then could they show you from their Bible where it says what they said.

And you open your Bible to 1 Corinthians 15:1-8. How does that match with what they preach, because if not, they are teaching another good news, and if so, then they stand condemned as Galatians 1:7 says.

Go back to Galatians 1 and now read them verses 6 and 7.

So if they preach another good news they really have deserted God, as verse 6 says.

i stumbled onto the section on jaydub.org (i'm not putting the proper address in for them).

it is called "illustrated bible stories" under the "children" section.. why is everyone of the 12 stories from the old testament / hebrew scriptures??.

so much for a "christian" religion!!.

Even the new logo, JW looks like it needs an "e" in between the two letters. I think they do this on purpose.

BTW I'm from Sephardic ancestry so the wannabe WT spiritual Semites/Israelites thing they got going feels almost like identity theft to me. :-(

Watchtower's deadline to appeal

the conti verdict was made in mid-april.

presumably, the wt&ts has until a certain date to decide whether to take the case to supreme court or not.

does anyone know how long this period is from the date of the court's decision?

Of course they'll wait until the last minute. It's in their "best interest", why?

Because the more they wait the more the big sums of money stay in their bank account gathering interest.

A young brother who loved to sing loud, really loud, what he lacked in musicality he made up in volume.

Well in the old song that recounts all the things Jesus did he sang the next line "For this Christ was exhausted"

Several of us also young ones in front of him heard him loud and clear, he went on singing and we just about cracked up because the words should have been "for this Christ was exalted".

Ah, those were the days when it was thrilling to be asked to rove with the mics!

So where is that "Donate" button on JW dot-org anyway?

i cannot find where you donate to them on their website, as was shown on their may 2015 broadcast.

don't worry, lol, i do not wish to donate!!

but am curious as to all the ways and how's they want you to donate to them online.

so if I log in and they can track "My Donations" how is that different from other churches passing out donation envelopes with names of parish members? They'll know who and how much, and also who doesn't contribute at all.
