Sad about the past
by Gorbatchov intoday i feel deep sad memories in my brain.. visiting bookstudy with my parents, doing my best giving answers at 7 years old.. doing fieldservice every weekend and on an evening.. i could write so much story's about it.. we believed from our hart and listened to what the organisation told us.. it makes me sad, what a scam it became.. today i can't stand it.. i can cry about it.

I know how you feel Gorby, I used to miss the fun with the bookstudy crowd after the meeting and sharing goodies and stories. But mostly now I'm just disgusted, ever more so as the GB 2.0 continues their brazen money grab and rebranding efforts, throwing the older folks aside now that they're little use or profit for them. They're a bunch of corporate inhuman jerks, and that makes the all the sadness turn to anger. -

Did the Governing Body sucessfully fend off this bad news on thier TV Broadcast??
by Wasanelder Once inremember there was a talk about not listening to "false stories" about sexual abuse from apostates on jw's fantasy station?
did the governing body put it out there as preemptive damage control because they knew this was coming?
they must have had subpoenas giving them a heads up.

You betcha they knew it was coming.
Some JW zombies were on Facebook saying how we shouldn't pay attention to the lies on the news and that we were already warned this was going to happen.
I'm sure there were a lot of excited calls and emails going back and forth between Crooklyn and the Aussie Branch over the Royal Commission's taking a peek in their dirty laundry file cabinet.

I bet those poor Elders are ready to either 1.) shoot themselves or 2.) shoot the C.O.
You forgot number 3---shoot the wife who sided with the Watchtower.
And/or #4 bring a concealed into Crooklyn and take care of the GB on a Wednesday when they have their pow-wow.

Does the royal commission have the power to force the Jws to change how abuse is handled?
by hoser ini'm wondering if this is just a hearing or if this commission has teeth?.
some very damning things coming out nonetheless .

I can see the WT throwing elders under the bus and blaming them for mishandling sexual child abuse cases, making it appear to the rant & file that the Organization didn't share blame. Sort of like a 1975-we-didn't-say-that situation. I think the vast majority will just go along and parrot the idea firmly convinced that the JW religion is God's organization but it's some imperfect men/elders who mishandled cases, and that now they know better and have been corrected.
The WT hierarchy is quite slippery and slimy knowing how to avoid blame.

Governing body deceiving members on purpose?
by wwjdnwt ini was born into this religion.
i was a jw for well over 30 years.
i did much research before i had internet, i compared bibles and prayed deeply to help me to know if this was the truth.

Does a CEO of a fortune 500 company believe in their corporation? I think it's pretty much the same with the Gobbering Body of the JW religion. They force themselves to throw aside doubts and nagging thoughts from their minds that what they're preaching, what they're selling, is no better and sometimes worse than other competing organizations.
I think Rutherford was a megalomaniac, and a psychopathic narcissist, but I doubt the current GB would consider braking away from Rutherford's wacky doctrines. It would be nice if they could see the error and cultishness that is rampant in their religion, sort of what took place with the Worldwide Church of God (Armstrong). It takes integrity and conscience to make changes like that.

Gay times at Brooklyn Bethel
by oppostate inleo greenlees and percy chapman have been exposed as practicing a gay lifestyle while serving at the world head quarters of the watchtower religion.. in this photo greenlees is at the left with glen how to his right and then nathan knorr who has chapman to his right.
i've seen this photo before many times.
it's in jim pentons book, but i never noticed greenlees left hand is holding how's right at his bottocks.. quite the gay times at bethel i'd say.. .

...,but In reality I just get annoyed at anything that artificially separates one human from another, be it race, colour, culture, style, class, wealth, education or sexual preference.
Well said, S&R, and I agree with what you say. I oppose discrimination.
But, why should it be ok to poke fun at a heterosexual quirky person, like Lett is, with homosexually charged deeds? Why? When it is not ok to make jokes about homosexuals' behavior in Bethel.
Whatever the case this thread is taking on a serious tone, in contrast to Brokeback Watchtowe's posts full of homosexual humor at the expense of Lett.
Do you think saying Lett is involved in giving bl0wjobs the same as saying Greelees likes to pinch bums? Really?

FOTW on FB
by oppostate inif you have a facebook account head on over to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/flagsoftheworld/.
they're discussing the jw flags that showed up at the rc.. one jw seems to be asking why would it be strange for the wt to have a flag for their religion.. i dunno, maybe because flags can be symbolic idols according to previous wt teachings?.

The identifiable reasons the Jehovah's Witnesses religion is a cult.
by Finkelstein inthis topic or debate has arisen a few times so, i thought it would be prudent to make an honest evaluation upon that statement.. if one reflects back on the history of this organization one can see how the leaders of this organization enforced or instilled it rules of conduct and rules of avowed allegiance to the those specific leaders, keeping in mind how j rutherford's forceful tactic to take over the organization upon c t russell's death.. j rutherford, the past president of the wts and the one that created the name jehovah's' witnesses ruled over the (his) organization with a strong arm, anyone who questioned his personal behavior, not only his doctrinal teachings were given the boot or dfed as its commonly known .
one particular documented instance ........ .
on october 7, 1940, olin r. moyle, formerly of the jehovah's witness legal staff met with joseph rutherford and several members of the watch tower board of directors in court.

@humblepotato:
The quote is from "Judge For 4 Days Rutherford" by Edward L. Curran:
http://wtarchive.svhelden.info/archive/en/others/1940_EC_Judge_For_4_Days_Rutherford.pdf
The book concludes with this telling paragraph about Judge-for-four-days-Rutherford.
"If every American citizen, Catholic and Protestant and Jew together, will unite in revealing and opposing the ignorant treasonable and bigoted statements and activities of the "Judge," then the kingdom of God and the welfare of our country will be protected against the sinister attacks of him who is neither a judge of the Scriptures nor a judge of reason but only Judge-"for four days"-Rutherford."
