Doesn't surprise me. I've commented on another thread that if there was mass dissent/revolution in the org it would probably begin in Europe. Love 'em or hate 'em, the Euros tend to be more well-educated than our dumb American asses...

by frankiespeakin ini was browsing the wt web sight and i came across this article about a nuclear physicist who became a jw and got baptised the same year he graduated i can't believe it.. he was won over by the logic in the evolution book:.
she gave me a book entitled did man get here by evolution or by creation?
* also, she told my wife that during the bible study scheduled for the following week, they would consider a bible prophecy showing that 1914 was a significant year.

Why Jehovah's Witnesses Are Discouraged From Using the Internet
by AllTimeJeff inat a recent series of circuit assemblies, the governing body put out warnings on what in their view is the latest danger from satan, designed to break the faith of jehovah's witnesses everywhere.. facebook.. yes, thats right, apparantly, the gb is concerned because a lot of people are having "facebook sex".
they are meeting old friends who aren't jehovah's witnesses and getting it on with whomever would willingly sleep with them.
evidentally, the gb would like their flock to believe that when jw's get on facebook and other social networking sites, fornication happens.. now, this is news.

What I can tell you though - beyond a shadow of a doubt - is this:
There IS a higher power/intelligence out there. Nobody who has heard my life's story can possibly deny this. Is this power loving, cruel, or simply indifferent?
I don't know. I would have to say all three, based on my experiences.
The point is this: We are here. Everything science and reason tells us is that we shouldn't be here, and yet here we are.

If a man with this kind of towering intellect "came into the truth", surely Witnesses with similar intellectual prowess are no threat to the org if they decided to further develop their gift by attending uni?
