they are pen and ink pictures which allows me to use the fine rotring pen over the top. Watercolours can provide a grainy finish which clogs the pen if you subsequently draw over the top. -

I don't feel you were unbalanced or inappropriate in your comments but then I am no longer part of the organisation. It seems that this is an excuse to grill you about non attendance and to fish to see if you have leanings towards apostasy. A fade is ok but if you associate with witnesses socially it seems to trigger action as you are seen as a potential problem.
I would say that you appreciate their concern and you will certainly look into this in more depth as a family but you would decline the offer of a visit at the moment as you are very busy and cannot commit to a specific time. If you feel that you could benefit from their input then you will of course contact them. Inviting them into your home can be a recipe for disaster I speak from experience.

Thank you for your comments. JWs are encouraged to be task focused and anything that they do not understand or does not contribute to the task is devalued.
It is such a shame that so many talented people are squashed within the organisation.

hopefully the picture will come out. Since leaving I have been actively pursuing my art which I had neglected whilst in the organisation due to time pressure and the fact that it was seen as a vanity.
Last year I exhibited for the first time, got one of my pictures on a book cover, had works taken in by a local shop and have started to build a reputation as a wildlife artist. I wish that I had started this sooner but I am so proud of where I am so far. Time is too precious to waste time on things that add no value to life I am so happy that I can try this however late it comes.

JWs are taught to judge and assess each others spirituality even without thinking. The first question you ask visitors to the hall is:
How long have you been in the truth? i.e. are you an interested person or a witness of long standing
If you have been in the organisation for a period of time then you may also be questioned about whether you hold any privileges or whether you have pioneered,
If you have been away from the hall for a period then questions may relate to whether you are getting to meetings ok or whether you have been ill. This helps to establish whether you are spiritually weak or have something serious they can gossip about.
No one ever asks if they can help you attend by offering practical assistance they just want to know if you are still worthy. When I refused to take my autistic son to meetings because he was self harming in school due to fears about the world ending I was told to find a baby sitter and leave him at home.
As witnesses we grade one another COs and DOs were fawned over in actives were despised if you are not contributing to the work then you are a potential threat.

Women are more invested emotionally so logic can sometimes be less important.
My husband learnt the TTATT before I did he was motivated to leave by the UN scandal and doctrines that he saw were illogical. I started to question the organisation when I saw the damage it was doing to my children, the way the literature prepared them to accept without question everything from the society. When I discovered the organisation had also lied about certain issues I was done and we left together.
It can take more for someone to leave if they have family and friends they may have to leave behind. At the moment she loses nothing by maintaining the status quo and she doesn't have to deal with the inconvenience of field service. She has the best of both worlds. You take her to meetings and provide company if she had to go on her own and make her own arrangements then she may feel differently. I would start missing more meetings and see if she goes on her own or whether she chooses to remain at home.
If you want her to wake up you need to tune into what matters to her and then if the society conflicts with her values then she has to justify it. Don't give her the information get her to think for herself and don't take platitudes and stock phrases as a valid justification. It is a long process for some. and it can be tricky since pushing too much may result in her having renewed zeal and clinging to the cult but doing nothing means that she will settle into a routine she finds comfortable with and see no need to change.
