  Hair-raising Tale!

  let's have some fun.did you find out some juicy gossip about a witness that you are just dying to blab?.

  here's one from me.. i went to a hairdressing salon for the first time and the stylist was a camp male who never stopped chatting from the second he got his gesticulating paws on my scruffy mop.. my mum who is a devout jw was sitting reading a mag waiting for me.. next thing he's telling us about his gay male friend who is a bit down because he is having an affair with a jw.

  to make things worse he is married with kids (the brother not the gay friend).. stifling my shock and trying not to look at my mum who is staring wildly and unseeingly at her mag i asked his name or address and although he didn't know the name he told us his street and district!.

  Hi free2beme,

  I really dont have any gossip because generally I was the one being gossiped about. Two things seem to upset the little pioneer group about me 1)I took classes at a JC, and 2) My family was well off, for some reason these two things made alot of the people in my hall very unfriendly towards me. The other people they gossiped about in the hall were generally families in crisis that could have benefited from some kind on intervention.

  In my hall the elders kids were not immoral or leading a double life so to speak, what they were was EVIL, doing their best to become elders themselves and in the process becoming some of the most self rightous little pr*cks you can imagine. People that engage in premarital sex but know the meaning of compassion are much more Chirst like in my opinion.

  Her sister was we found out later climbing out the window at night to give boys "head job".

  Where was this girl when I was in the org. Stories like this do us no good unless accompanied by a phone number.

  that's the title of another poxy thread on witnesses online that has me scratching my head in disbelief that anyone could be so deluded.. i would love to be able to post a reply in the thread saying something like: "well, i guess none of you have any unbelieving relatives, then?"..

  Any college set up by the org would be so tied down with the need to support their dogma (blood is bad, revisionist history, psychology is bad, etc,etc), it would make the institution completly without value. I wonder what they would teach?

  just wondering who on this board believes in hell (flaming hell that is a commonly shared belief by catholics and others) and why.

  i personally think it is bull doody caca.

  Well if by Hell you mean a flaming place where a guy in a red suit pokes you in the backside with a giant fork, as much fun as that sounds like unfortunately that does not exist. I think hell is simply non-existence. As far as an after-life since I do believe in a creator this leads me to believe in some form of after-life, what it is composed of exactly I am unsure of.

  C14 AND EARLY MAN

  in my quest to find an inner peace i have done a lot of research on early man and how his story fits in with the bible.

  this research has also gone into c14 carbon dating.. i asked the website www.bibleanswers.com a question on this and have posted the replys below.

  I understand your need to search and reconcile your beliefs with scientific facts. Have you ever thought that maybe evolution is not a contradiction to the bible? Really I do not believe that the bible is meant to be taken literally word for word but should be read like a story looking for the main points.

  To answer your questions Neanderthal man existed thousands of years ago and most of the science, if not all, from the YEC camp is flawed at best, dishonest at worst.

  its amazing the extent these circulate in the wt world.

  i am not so sure, but it develops a powerful folklore amongst jws....often with a moral at the end!

  typically these circulate as experiences given in talks and are then adopted by the masses as truth.. for example, anyone hear the ul about the married couple where the wife had to have a routine blood check.

  The Australian bombing incident had a further twist added to it out here in Cali. I was told that the speaker had asked everyone to read a scripture just seconds before the bomb exploded, so all the good witnesses had their heads down and buried in their bibles when the blast occurred. Having their heads down supposedly protected them so that the only witnesses hurt were the ones that were not following along with the speaker.

  What’s really interesting about this story is that when it was relayed to me by several experienced pioneers, their attitude seemed to be that if people were doing what they were supposed to no one would be hurt. This way of thinking led them to believe that the injured were somehow responsible for their injuries, a very common attitude among the JW elite.

  I just read this post in another thread, and it made a question come up in my mind. Personally I believe we should never curtail someone’s freedom of speech, not Jewish people, not Nazis, not the clan, not Libertarians or Republicans. I think the only way to really fight the org. is through education and communication my question would be what is the best way to accomplish this.

  So what I have here is a quick poll:

  My time in the org. was relatively short compared to many people but I did notice one trend, at least at the local level, before I left. Many of the new members were people that come from the edge of society like prisoners, mentally ill, and the slightly retarded. I think as human society evolves and the org. stays the same the ratio of impaired witnesses to relatively normal witnesses is going to continue to increase. Normally the long-term consequence of a trend like this would be a talent drain that would eventually dilute the quality of the leadership, but really I don’t see how the organization could be run any worse, so I don’t know what the long-term effect will be.
