Saturday Let the Games Begin
by Poztate inthe start of a new memorial season is upon us.
saturday is the day for the start of the invites to look but not touch the bread and wine.
the "observer class" is a belief unique to jehovah's witnesses.. along with the invite to the masses a special effort is being made this year by the elders to invite all the df's, da's and faders.. along with the invite a copy of the rtj will be left with them.. naturally we will still be treated as pariah's if we do attend but it is the thought that counts.. i am of the "fader class" as i don't wish to rock the boat with my wife and extended family.

Huh, I missed that letter as well. It will be very interesting if they happen to find me, as I will hit them head on with what are they doing now in response to the ARCs findings last year. If they give me a satisfactory answer I will accept their invitation. So that means there is a 0% chance of accepting the invitation. -

"New light"?
by winstonchurchill inhttps://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-study-june-2016/man-with-inkhorn/.
so i guess baptism is no longer the "mark for survival".. as a matter of fact, that key aspect of the 'old light' is not even acknowledged in this article.. they are just publishing new understanding without even bothering to explain the full extent of the change, hoping nobody will remember how it was... and they may be right about that..

So basically everyone where JWs don't even scratch the surface are screwed. Or the end is a long, long way away, assuming they are going to "preach" to these areas someday....
From JWFacts:
Being a Witness is predominantly contingent on where one is born and billions of people will never hear of the name Jehovah or Jesus. Living within the following countries - Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Mali, Nepal, Niger, Pakistan, Thailand and Turkey are around 3 billion people, nearly half the global population. Yet the 2006 Watchtower Service Report showed that combined these have less than 40,000 Witnesses, not even 1 for every 70,000 people. These countries represent many religious (Muslim, Atheist, Buddhist and Hindu) and ethnic (African, Indian, Asian and European) backgrounds, showing that no particular group is genetically disposed to be "goat-like". In Pakistan and Bangladesh virtually all will be destroyed, the ratio of Witnesses to 'worldly people' is less than 1:1,000,000. In 2006, there was not a single Witness in Afghanistan. Is it fair for people who have never even heard of Jehovah to be destroyed at Armageddon?

Hilarious! Love the third box with him "meditating" over his tight pants problem. All they forgot was a fourth box where dude has a tight pants burning ceremony. After all, you wouldn't want to donate Devil's pants to charity and forward the homosexual agenda!
These guys have lost it!

Christadelphian
by Billy1000 inmy name is stephen and i am new to the forum.
i am a christadelphian and through my discussions with fellow members of my ecclesia it has inspired me to reach out to other religions to find out exactly what others believe to enhance my own faith and further bring me closer to our heavenly father.
in no way do i mean disrespect if it has been caused.

Even Roman scribes have mentioned Christ often referred to as Christus... corroborating that he did exist.
Sure, maybe he was here. And he said he said plenty of things about himself that didn't come true. Kinda makes him a false prophet, don't you think? Or just a delusional hippie who had a few followers.

Un-****ing-Believable
by OneFingerSalute injust a few observations from this morning.
.. this morning as i was trying to choke back the bile that kept wanting to come up during the wt study one comment in particular screamed cult.. towards the very end as comments were being made about "counseling" others with "gracious" words one of the uber-dub minstral-serpents made this comment, "we see in the last image that the brother is holding a bible as he counsels the other brother.
we look closely at the picture and we can know exactly what he is counseling the brother about.

Nice comeback. That's the thing about the bible, you can get whatever you want out of it, you just have to have the right scriptures locked and loaded and you can get them to shuffle off with their head spinning.
I wonder if Warwick will end up being an aposta-creation machine. Once its over everyone is going to be back home and there is gonna be that letdown period. Can't wait, I'm sure we will hear some real stories coming out of that project.

Need to vent: My loathing for the JW cult increases more and more, while my wife clings more and more to it
by goingthruthemotions injust as i think my loathing for the jw cult has peaked, it goes higher and higher.
i wish this cult would just go away.
i wish my wife would just wake up.

The cult is not "going away" or going to be "taken down".
Live your life and make your decisions assuming it will be here another 50-100 years - in other words long after we are all dead and gone.

Soooo if ol Hugh Hefner became a jw, would that make it jw legal to buy playboys?
Playboy is no nudity now, I'm sure you can buy them anytime and remain in good standing.

Baptised younger
by Sabin inso why do you think the borg is encouraging youngsters to get dunked sooner?
i reckon it's cause they are easy to victimise.
i mean, some-one could say, keep our secret, nobody will believe you & god wont love you, but think of the power they would have if they say "you will be disfellowshipped," on top.

Its insane. What is the biggest commitment you could ever make according to a JW? Baptism.
What is the second biggest commitment you could ever make as a JW. They'd probably say marriage.
Why are you told to not get married until past the bloom of youth? Yeah I know most young JWs ignore that shit cause they want to get that booty. But even 18 is pretty much the minimum age for marriage.
Why is it younger for baptism. Control reasons only.

Reply to Bugbear: Why I believe in the Bible
by Saved_JW in[some words i corrected for spelling & grammer] .
"i have been studying the bible for almost 20 years....after graduating in history and science comparing to the the bible, i have have come to to the conclusion that the bible cannot give you any reason to believe in it at all.
so i wonder, why do you use the bible as facit to your believes?

At the end of the day, God has changed me from a rebel who hated him and his law, to somebody who loves him and follows him
Care to clarify which laws you follow? OT or only NT? Both have some pretty weird shit in them, or do you just throw out the ones you don't like?
