Extremely interesting development. Looks like BIG GUNS are sniffing around the WT closet. Check out the about us page
http://www.childsexabuse.org/about-us/
Also interesting the only tab on that site is about JWs
http://www.childsexabuse.org/perpetrators/jehovahs-witness/
Does anyone know exactly which memo they are referring to about not contacting the police/resulting in punishment? Would be around 91-92 if that 25 year time frame noted is accurate.

Any updates on Vaping?
by longgone ini was wondering if the gb has forbidden vaping yet, so i did a search.
there was a thread from a year ago, the comments covered all the bases i suspected the wt would come up with.
i'm out, so it doesn't really matter to me.

The old codgers that run this show are reactive, not proactive. What vaping is may or may not have even reached them, via mailed in reports from COs across the land.
Its been like this forever. I was listening to rap music as a teen in the late 80s forever, stuff like NWA. I was shocked back then at how long it took for them to put out some sort of article against that stuff.
Old white guys living with Yes Men around them aren't up on things in the real world.

How do you categorise the Society - Cult or High control religion
by UnshackleTheChains ini have often seen many categorise the organisation in different ways.
some say cult, some say high control religion.
cult or high control religion?.
-
LostGeneration
I think its semantics. It only matters when your audience is sensitive. To a JW, the last thing you want to say is "That cult" or "You're in a cult" as it will shut them down immediately. Saying high control group is the way to approach it in that case.

Individual Duds absolutely cannot learn the "truth" on their own"???
by James Mixon inwhy is it that i understand the bible more clearly today then all my years in the organization (jw)???
?many religious people believe the average person cannot understand the bible..maybe the reasons (1) they may have tried to study the bible and found it difficult, so they gave up.
(2) maybe they believe truth is subjective;so whatever you believe, that is truth for you.

If you studied the bible on your own, you'd never come up with "overlapping generations" from 1914, blood fractions are a-OK and you shouldn't turn in suspected child molesters to the police.
So yes, "the truth" can only come from delusional men making shit up with the bible as a background prop.

why haven't the elders talked to him yet???
by Homer notsimpson inmy brother got himself in hot water, ive been posting alot about this only cuz i care for him so much.the story goes like this, ge and a girl wete sexting very on and off for a year, they haven't sexted in a year due to her finding a bf... they were engaged in less than a year, and it broke off in august ,she tries to commit suicide, and talked to the elders, she told my brother that and that shes gonna tell on him too.. she got df in august ( shes been reproved before) and its now january 2017.. she claims that she did tell, but because the elders didn't know what his hall was they couldn't do anything, is that a possibility?
why haven't they talked to him?
could it bw that she didn't tell on him?

Sexting is pretty much under the loose conduct banner I believe.
Hard to know, sounds like she didnt drop a dime on him. Maybe he got lucky.

how to not get in trouble when addressing your comcerns about the organization during a shepharding call
by nowwhat? inso just finished telling your concerns about the pedophiles cover up, failed prophecies, revisionists history and lack of financial transparency.
so elders ask you the questions.
" so does this mean you don't want to to be a jw anymore?

I'd keep it to the child molestation cases only to be safe. All the rest is the regular old "imperfect men" and "where else where you go" narrative. By keeping it on that one and only issue, they have no defense.
A simple "I will wait on Jah" to cleanse the org before they leave allows you to send a message and wait, outside the KH that is, indefinitely.

Class Action Lawsuit Against The Watchtower Corporation By The Multitude Left Penniless After A Vow Of Poverty And Obediance Lasting Decades
by Brokeback Watchtower inwell i think as the exposure becomes greater of the wt hypocrisy and cover up that the likelihood of this happening great.
no retirement funds for all those laid off when they were no longer profitable due to old age has got to bite these guys in the ass some day.. and maybe in the process of man's enlighten world view and a better understanding the cruelty of disfellowshipping member and enforcing a communication ban ones family members may open them up from another class action lawsuit over such egregious action caused by a religious printing organization domination over peoples action through deceit and clever lies about supernatural claims of authority.. either way i think they are going to need a lot of outside legal help in the future as lawsuits will pile up around the world which that alone could dry up all their funds in defense costs..

Those aren't class actions based on belief systems, Brokeback. They are for child molestation.

The religious freedoms granted by the constitution is manly for the person not those claiming to run a religion.
Nonsense. No distinction whatsoever is made. The First amendment, for your consideration.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Disfellowshipping anyone from any religion is the right of a religion. Forcing someone to speak to someone they choose not to speak to for religious reasons would be a VIOLATION of the 1st Amendment. And why in the hell would you want to talk to someone who is being FORCED to talk to you in the first place?
Every few months on here you come spouting off about CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS, Brokeback, without any real knowledge about the nature of what such lawsuits are intended for, (clue: not for the governmental destruction of wacky religions). Its not adding to the conversation.
