Your experience is one reason I left Jesus/YHWH behind altogether.
Love me or I'll kill you sounds like a pretty abusive relationship.
so i posted a question on yahoo answers asking about what christians feel god feels about non-christians.
the overwhelming answer was that he feels they must convert to christianity or risk hell/death/distruction (john 3:16).
i just don't understand how this could be!

just reading a thread about one circuit saying the pubs must donate $10.. it got me thinking, that if it ever became policy to donate a % of ones income, that would be my cue to leave.
or i would kick up such a stink about it i would be kicked out.
either would be good for me.. so, is there any public policy changes which would be your cue to leave?.
A cue to leave? The dozens of flip flops and outright lies are enough.
Or the ARC testimony on its own is a good reason. Simply say there is a big problem protecting children from pedophiles and you will wait on Jehovah to clean things up. Nothing wrong with waiting on Jehovah from the comfort of your own couch.

the new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.
here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.
1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.
This thread warms my heart. What a blessing from Jah!
So let me understand this correctly, every week there are three different demonstrations? Are these assigned weeks out like a talk used to be?
The reason I ask is that whenever I used to do the "announcements" or any other part that required a demo, people would flat out refuse me. It was the hardest thing to recruit people for that! I don't know if they just hated having to stand up there, or if it was just the fact that they were so far off from reality compared to the usual real world experience at the door.
Three demos every single meeting sounds horrible.
hi one and all.. i've lurked for 3 years, about time i signed up.. i'm a still in ms due to family.. fully awake.. i look forward to getting to know all of you..
I understand GG, all things in their due time. Good luck to you.

today has been a horrible day.
what began as a day of joy finding out that one of my lifelong friends had her baby, turned into a nightmare when her brother called me to let me know she had passed away after birth.
i was in shock and didn't ask how.
Sometimes I think I can let go of this cult...then I read stuff like this.
My condolences to you, absolutely tragic

sorry but i really feel like i need to rant right now.
recently my dad was made an elder so my family has been doing a lot more "theocratic" activities lately.
every morning i wake up and put on my itchy dress and stupid makeup and heels and then pretend that i love what i'm doing and that everybody is my friend when in reality i feel horrible and all the other teenage girls at my hall hate me for some reason.
Sorry you are going thru such pain...hopefully because you are their daughter they won't shun, just don't get baptized, but you probably know that already. :)
Please don't give up on your dreams. You are smart enough already to realize it's a cult, so it's only a matter of time until you are free forever. Wishing you the best...

i've noticed that each wt lesson really only has one or two points they want remembered.
normally they build up to these by about the third subheading.
this week's lesson though was different, the main point was insidiously made through an experience in the first paragraph:.
