and i have to approach this subject of this book, now i know this book has been talked about on this site a while ago, but i had to bring it back up as most still in jw's know today is the first day of them doing the memorial preaching work.
Its tough to get a JW to look at old literature. They just consider it irrelevant.
The best argument I ever saw on this board about that book is that it would have been the book Jesus inspected upon naming the Bible Students his peeps in 1919. Pose or state that fact to a JW before you introduce them to the crazy ass shit in that piece of work.
it's funny as i reflect back on my days as a witness during the watchtower study.
it seems like no matter what the question asked.
it was like parrots squawking back exactly what they had just heard with absolutely no thought or even the slightest expression of free will.
One of the best lines in Ray's book, something along the lines of "I never saw much value in being a parrot"

Way too many variables. How far away is it, to start?
Any local city the elders just lob a few phone calls to the elders they know and sniff around. Generally its an hours work at most in that situation.
Give up would all depend if the elder is a hardass or lazy.
