They keep finding ways to make themselves look bad. Their self awareness level has got to be among the worst ever. Keep it up JWs, your god must be so proud of you.

So now the JW's are setting up carts/stands in our national and public parks!
by StoneWall inthought i'd share this article i was sent today.
it's getting to where you can't go and take a leisurely stroll or hike without being bombarded with the stufff we want to get away from.http://www.citizen-times.com/story/sports/outdoors/girls-gone-outdoors/2017/07/06/proselytizing-blue-ridge-parkway/452390001/.

Stonewalling and the Governing Body
by UnshackleTheChains inwhy do the gb stonewall individuals with legitimate questions.
for example, they refuse to speak to investagative journalists like trey bundy, unless they happen to get caught somewhere walking about in the street by chance.. i remember the panorama documentary 'suffer the little children' where the presenter tried to arrange an interview with one of the gb.
i can't remember if the gb either refused or simply didn't reply.

Another example, when Geoff Jackson was hauled before the ARC, you know, the whole "you will be hailed before Kings and Governors" thing.
Here he was, with a platform to speak as someone representing Christ's brothers. A simple question of whether he was part of the faithful slave. Yet he dodges the question and says it would be presumptuous to say so.
Now, if he really believes that he is the faithful slave, and that millions if not billions would benefit by following the advice of he and his cohorts, he obviously should shout that from the rooftops. Or, maybe he doesn't really believe it? Hmmmm. Almost a Peter-like denial of Christ there, wouldn't you say?

Can JWs vote?
by NikL ini finally found the questions from readers i was looking for.. from nov 1, 1999 wt .
it says.... questions from readershow do jehovah’s witnesses view voting?there are clear principles set out in the bible that enable servants of god to take a proper view of this matter.
however, there appears to be no principle against the practice of voting itself.

You can't vote, but you can lobby Russia when the governing body is worried about losing material assets.

Is JW.org unbreakable
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question for good reason.
let's face it, despite all the books, videos, forums, court cases, hearings, protests etc that have been exposing the society for many years.
jw.org continues to roll on almost 'it seems' unscathed.. for example, just walk into any kingdom hall there is not so much as a whisper about anything that has been exposed outside of jw land.

They've got a good business model. Offer everlasting life in exchange for remaining decades now.
Back it up with death threats and the loss of virtually all family/friends if you leave.
And we wonder why people don't leave. Only those with a backbone find their way out.

An Elder/retired service member cashing their military pension??
by HereIgo inthere is an elder currently still serving in my old congregation that is retired air force and from what i have heard, still gladly and discreetly cashes his monthly pension.
granted, he did "earn" it, but i always felt it was rather odd to supposedly be anti-government but yet still benefit from government money.
would the society consider this a conscience matter?

I'd respect a military pensioner a lot more than any of those pioneers mooching off the system on welfare or food stamps. Im sure he's brainwashed like the rest of em, but at least at one time in his life he served for the greater good. -

JW's Changing Tune
by SickofLies ini left the religion back in the early 2000's, tell you the truth it's been so long now i've been out i don't remember exactly when i left.
i definitely used this site a lot when i first left and it was a great asset.
when i left i somehow managed to get my parents to come with me.

If they are preaching at your kids, how about a little coaching for them.
Have them simply ask "Can I still celebrate my birthday if I become a Jehovah's Witness?" and let things go from there. The reply will either be somewhat embarrassed, if they realize how cruel it is to take away a child's birthday, or on the other hand, it will be so over the top ridiculous, your children will see what a silly cult these people belong to. Either way, you and the kids win.

JW Wife not listening
by rathernotsay inhey guys, looking for some advice with what to do with my jw wife that is simply ignoring my wishes/demands.

Ironically, there's a great book called "No More Mr. Nice Guy" that you should pick up and read, as well.
Hubbys are considered Heads of their wives in JW land. Use it to your advantage, which means you dont be a dick but you say there needs to be more of a balance. You work long hours and aren't getting enough time with the kids. You are cutting back on hours, and she needs to work to help support the family . There are a few special months a year where you can be an "auxiliary pioneer" for far fewer hours in the month. Its like 25 instead of 50, maybe a current JW can correct me if wrong.
Offer that compromise instead.

Apologies to BE and to you WannaExit, I spoke from my personal perspective, I just couldn't seem myself doing it for that amount of time. Glad to hear of his success in waking others.

Outraged After Watching The May 2017 Broadcast
by pale.emperor inok, so i've just put myself through another months broadcast so i can see what bull they're feeding my still in relatives.
all was going fine... well, i say fine, i mean the usual cheesy videos, rehearsed reactions from jeffrey jackson (you remember him, the one who told half truths and lies at the royal commission) and propaganda from jw land.. the last feature brings up 9/11 and the paris 2015 attack at the bataclan.
just as im thinking "how are they gonna spin this in their direction" i hear these words:.

I wouldn't worry about those videos. I have a feeling they are creating more apostates every month with that garbage. Those idiots are so tone deaf they don't realize the damage they cause.

Ah so bible Examiner you are the savior we all need to praise because you stay in "undercover" and can name drop unlike the rest of us.. Or maybe we simply choose not to name drop and enjoy our freedom day after day, while you go out in field service on your Saturday mornings. Quite the saint you are!
As Rebel already pointed out eloquently, your participation in the cult (16 years after joining the board!) is not a badge of honor. Its simply an admission you are quite comfortable in your little prison, because the company is good.
In the end, we all live with our choices. I'm quite happy with mine, there are scars of course, but I'd rather have take the damage that comes with those decisions rather than lack the pair of balls necessary to fight that battle.
