Born Ins Vs Converts
by JW_Rogue indid you ever feel like born ins were looked at differently than those that were converted?
i always felt that there was a level of suspicion around those "raised in the truth".
that we were always suspected of being jws to make our family happy.

My wife is very much in although she complains about the Elders and cliques in the congregation she always comes back to the same point. This is the truth and weren't not here for people but for Jehovah. She couldn't watch the whole May Broadcast though because she said "I get it, we should give more" and walked out. Later though she actually did give more as a one time thing. So not sure what that says about where she is at. -

Don't forget the many RBC Elders who own their own contracting company. It's amazing how many contractors are Elders. -

Did you ever feel like born ins were looked at differently than those that were converted? I always felt that there was a level of suspicion around those "raised in the truth". That we were always suspected of being JWs to make our family happy. That our faith was less than those who converted. Also, those that converted after a career and marriage always seemed to find it odd that young JWs struggled with those things. -

My wife's first language isn't English so maybe just plant the idea of moving to a foreign language congregation with her to learn the language. While I'm learning (which can take a long time) I won't be able to be a MS, FS will be a cursory presentation at best and I'll be able to miss meetings because they aren't in my language anyway. -

I don't think I could pull of the whole anxiety issue. I've been giving talks since I was a kid it would be very strange to all of the sudden start having anxiety about it. I'm married so I could try the "stepping down to focus on my family" but then I'd be putting my wife through undue scrutiny. Perhaps leave to foreign language group where I'd be virtually invisible (and useless to the Elders). -

Reasoning on the New "1900 Years" JW Theology (from David Splane)
by FusionTheism ininspired by the three recent threads on david splane's new video declaring, among other things, that there was no faithful slave for 1900 years, and there may not have even been any genuine anointed ones during those years, i decided to make this post.. here are the three previous threads on this topic:.

Something I never understood and I tried to point this out to others is that with this new FDS doctrine being anointed is no longer important. These ones who are supposed to rule eternally in the heavens have zero special standing in the congregation. Now it's pretty much the GB and everybody else is a nobody. They even question the mental capacity of those professing to be anointed. -

So that other thread was fun but now I need some help with something. I was born in the truth most of my family is in. Although they aren't outwardly super spiritual I doubt any of them would ever leave. We have all been in the same hall since forever. I'm a MS which really complicates things, I don't go out in service much just enough to not be irregular. I thought perhaps this would lead to me getting deleted but it hasn't happened. I think the reason is that I handle some responsibilities that other brothers don't want to do. I can see that some brothers may feel that I just need "encouragement" and I could take the next step to being an Elder. I feel this is coming down the pipeline after the study on training others and "disengaged" brothers.
I would like to step down as a first step towards distancing myself from this organization. I just don't see how I could do it that will not set off alarm bells and lead to people "encouraging" me. Even if I become irregular in service that will be warning sign. I really just don't see how I can get out of this.

Has there been new counsel about Facebook recently?
by purrpurr ini've noticed increasing amounts of jw's are coming off fb and deactivating completely.
all with the same reason which they post about at lenght which is that they wwant to focus more on their spiritual life and not have the distraction of fb.. have i missed something or is this just a coincidence?.

No new counsel on FB but some people decide to quit for another reason. As a JW there is not much you can post about without somebody getting offended. Even if nothing you post can be construed as "offensive" some people will wonder why you don't share more "spiritually upbuilding things". Things like pictures of trolley carts in foreign lands, bible quotes and the daily text. In short JWs take all the fun out FB, so why would anyone want to stay?
