  this morning, my wife showed me this online article (written yesterday evening july 11, 2016) from dutch newspaper "trouw":.

  to me, this seems to be one serious step further, and together with the convention bunker video's it will surely fuel the persecution-syndrome and expectations of the great tribulation even more than it already did!

  Or are you ok with child porn,, Warren Jeffs, honor killings and the speech and teachings that support these and other damaging religious teachings?
  Second, do you know anything about Russian anti extremist laws? When and why they were created? The patience Russian courts have exercised in applying those laws?

  Child Porn and Honor Killings are actual crimes and have nothing to do with free speech. I don't believe we should limit anyone's free speech even if their rhetoric is hateful. Unless they are making a specific credible threat towards a person or the government then they have that right under law. These ideologies aren't going to die because someone enacts a law prohibiting people from speaking about them publicly. Through awareness and education we can lessen the impact these groups have and keep them from growing. Eventually many of them will die out when it is seen that they are based on lies and are used to manipulate and control people.

  No, I have not examined the Russian laws or how they are applied through their court system. I only have 24 hours in each day, studying the laws of a corrupt dictatorship isn't on my agenda.

  I think some of the new light is coming from Splane, he seems to enjoy the playing the intellectual role. Splane was the one that announced that they just "loved the idea" of the GB being the FDS. He also gave a talk for Bethel worship trying to explain how the FDS didn't appear until 1919. Of course he also did the infamous "overlapping generation" JW Broadcast. So he may be the one behind these new ideas.

  The point of the videos is behavior modification, fear of the GT is just a motivator. Each segment is either a behavior they want to see more of like simplifying your life to give more to the org or something they want people to avoid because it could lead to fading away from the org. The GT scenario they present isn't based on any biblical passage it is just a "what if" scenario, they know even though it's just hypothetical JWs will run with the idea. They will think that "they must know something is going to happen soon," some in my family have actually said that. They ignore the fact that they have been saying that for decades.

  i recently came across a female youtuber called "bridget azaz".

  she has made a number of youtubes recording discussions that she has had with a number of jws.

  LOL Those two are liars, every witness knows that the GB are the FDS chosen by God. To deny it is ridiculous, why can't they defend their beliefs? They didn't even try the old "they are imperfect but guided by God's spirit" to interpret the scriptures line of reasoning, they just blatantly lie.

  how did such a weighty decision get put directly in the hands on the average citizen?

  and with only a simple majority required?

  in the usa the biggest thing that people vote on directly is city building projects or infrastructure.

  I guess that would depend on what country you reside in, some countries really don't have much to lose. The US though would be foolish to join in anything even remotely resembling the EU.

  Build a giant wall all around the country and put a tinfoil roof on top. Only way to be sure. Go #Brexit!

  the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?

  I'm confused wasn't the UK a power for years before they joined the EU. What makes people now think that they will suddenly fall apart? Sure it make take some time to adjust but I'm willing to bet they will recover. This is big blow to the EU and proponents of globalization more than it is anything else.

  Ahh, yes but he offered you "spiritual protection" it's like real protection except it just allows you to keep your faith in JW.org. Too bad you chose to deny his wonderful "spiritual protection" and DA yourself. Now you've opened yourself up to "spiritual attacks" from Satan and his demon cohorts. These "spiritual attacks" are worse than physical ones because they blind you to God's word and don't allow you to return to his "clean organization."
