I read the article, it gives lip service to reading the bible and prayer. In the end though, they want you to research WT publications and do as they say. The bible may just have principles but WT is very happy to clearly define how to apply them to almost any situation. The article wants you to feel like you're making your own decisions when in reality you are following the WT.

What would you like to have known about JWs before deciding whether to get baptised?
by slimboyfat inif you could go back in time and tell yourself one thing about jws would you do it?
and what would you choose to say to yourself?
do you think you could have convinced yourself not to get baptised if you chose the right thing to say?

I think I knew everything that I could know, the problem was I was seeing the world through the eyes of a twelve year old boy. No matter how much knowledge you have at that age you are just not emotionally mature enough to make a life long commitment to anything. I always imagined that even if it wasn't 100% the truth that it would be "the best life ever," as the kids are saying now. Never did I imagine that my outlook about what is important in life would change or that the message of the organization would begin to feel like a heavy weight around my neck. That just reading WT articles would make feel like I was being manipulated and controlled for someone else's benefit. I guess sometimes you have to live it before you really understand what it's all about but by that point it's too late.

What JWs are saying about 2016 RC on social media
by Sanchy insince i'm only an "inactive", i still have plenty of jw friends on facebook and instagram.
here's a few samples of what they are posting regarding the remain loyal to jehovah conventions (note some of my friends are spanish speakers):.
what an amazing fulfilling day with these people .

I've been to a lot of conventions and by far this one was the most negative. Everything was about what we should and shouldn't be doing, lots of fear and manipulation. Only Sunday afternoon did they even try to bring out any hope for the future. Really toxic stuff this year.

Great Tribulation alert?: Russia signs new restrictions that bans almost all forms of religious preaching outside recognized churches.
by redpilltwice inthis morning, my wife showed me this online article (written yesterday evening july 11, 2016) from dutch newspaper "trouw":.
http://www.trouw.nl/tr/nl/4716/christendom/article/detail/4337852/2016/07/11/rusland-verbiedt-thuiskerken-en-meeste-geloofsverkondiging.dhtml.
to me, this seems to be one serious step further, and together with the convention bunker video's it will surely fuel the persecution-syndrome and expectations of the great tribulation even more than it already did!

Or are you ok with child porn,, Warren Jeffs, honor killings and the speech and teachings that support these and other damaging religious teachings?
Second, do you know anything about Russian anti extremist laws? When and why they were created? The patience Russian courts have exercised in applying those laws?Child Porn and Honor Killings are actual crimes and have nothing to do with free speech. I don't believe we should limit anyone's free speech even if their rhetoric is hateful. Unless they are making a specific credible threat towards a person or the government then they have that right under law. These ideologies aren't going to die because someone enacts a law prohibiting people from speaking about them publicly. Through awareness and education we can lessen the impact these groups have and keep them from growing. Eventually many of them will die out when it is seen that they are based on lies and are used to manipulate and control people.
No, I have not examined the Russian laws or how they are applied through their court system. I only have 24 hours in each day, studying the laws of a corrupt dictatorship isn't on my agenda.

I think some of the new light is coming from Splane, he seems to enjoy the playing the intellectual role. Splane was the one that announced that they just "loved the idea" of the GB being the FDS. He also gave a talk for Bethel worship trying to explain how the FDS didn't appear until 1919. Of course he also did the infamous "overlapping generation" JW Broadcast. So he may be the one behind these new ideas.

Russian anti- extremist laws are the future and the best hope for our specie's survival.
You're joking, right? So curtailing free speech is going rid the world of terrorism and extremist groups? And what extremist group do you see as a threat to our "species survival"?

What was the point of the bunker video
by Crazyguy inthey get caught by the bad guys at the end anyway, don't get what thier point is to the video?
of course i haven't seen it all they way either.

The point of the videos is behavior modification, fear of the GT is just a motivator. Each segment is either a behavior they want to see more of like simplifying your life to give more to the org or something they want people to avoid because it could lead to fading away from the org. The GT scenario they present isn't based on any biblical passage it is just a "what if" scenario, they know even though it's just hypothetical JWs will run with the idea. They will think that "they must know something is going to happen soon," some in my family have actually said that. They ignore the fact that they have been saying that for decades.

Amazing YouTuber talking to JWs
by Listener ini recently came across a female youtuber called "bridget azaz".
she has made a number of youtubes recording discussions that she has had with a number of jws.
she does an excellant job and i thought i would make mention of her here.there appears to be another youtube site that either she or someone else has created with a couple of her interviews which have been touched up from the originals on her 'bridget azaz' site.this is one of them and i think you will enjoy it.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkescwpafmu&feature=em-subs_digest.

LOL Those two are liars, every witness knows that the GB are the FDS chosen by God. To deny it is ridiculous, why can't they defend their beliefs? They didn't even try the old "they are imperfect but guided by God's spirit" to interpret the scriptures line of reasoning, they just blatantly lie.

One Thing I Don't Get About Brexit
by JW_Rogue inhow did such a weighty decision get put directly in the hands on the average citizen?
and with only a simple majority required?
in the usa the biggest thing that people vote on directly is city building projects or infrastructure.

How did such a weighty decision get put directly in the hands on the average citizen? And with only a simple majority required? In the USA the biggest thing that people vote on directly is city building projects or infrastructure. Most of the time those measures require a 60% approval rating. How is it that Brits are voting on what seems like a federal issue?

Watchtower and Brexit
by jwleaks inso britain is leaving the european union (eu).. the governing body of jehovah's witnesses have over the past year moved the majority of its european activities to the control of watchtower britain and the ibsa primarily because of britain's membership with the eu.. further, the incorporated pseudo-political lobby group, european association of jehovah's christisn witnesses, based in brussels, is administered by watchtower britain and its officers.
.

Awesome!
Go globalism!!!I guess that would depend on what country you reside in, some countries really don't have much to lose. The US though would be foolish to join in anything even remotely resembling the EU.
Build a giant wall all around the country and put a tinfoil roof on top. Only way to be sure. Go #Brexit!
Wait so you are for Brexit but believe calling Obama and Hillary globalist means I believe in conspiracy theories? Globalization is real and is already happening it is not a conspiracy or a theory. The EU had been the biggest success for those who want globalization but now they have hit a setback.
