Why do some people insist on opening their mouths about stuff? The less the elders know the better!

JW culture of "informers" is very similar to Communist China under Mao
by TerryWalstrom infirst, let's look at what counsel is published by the watchtower and required as proper behavior in the congregation.. *** g88 9/8 p. 20 should i tell on my friend?
***understandably, you may not feel you have the spiritual qualifications to readjust an erring friend.
but would it not make sense to see to it that the matter is reported to someone who is qualified to help?

How Would You Prove To A JW That They Are Wrong?
by minimus inwhat could you say to prove to a witness that they simply do not have the truth?.
-
JW_Rogue
You don't need to prove anything and I don't think that method works anyway. Just opening them up to the idea that not everything WT says is the truth and that it is okay to disagree on some matters is the first step.

Forgiveness
by Freedom rocks inif someone does the same things over and over again and says sorry and then does it again and you point out that their apologies don't mean anything anymore, then they accuse you of not being forgiving enough, who is in the wrong?
(i mean as in constantly over a long period of time).
im trying to work out whether it was just part of the persons mental/ emotional manipulation tactics or whether i have the wrong view and i'm not forgiving enough.

Some things maybe ingrained in the person's personality and not very easy to stop doing. It could also be that the two of you have both have tactics that you use to get what you want from the other without being open about it.

Am I being unreasonable with my pimo boyfriend?
by Addison0998 ini was very lucky to have be dating somebody who didn’t run and snitch on me when i started having questions and showing him research i did, instead he listened to me, and after a few arguements, he did wake up as well.
it really didn’t take much to wake him up, and he was more just tired of the crazy witnesses in general.
and now we are planning on getting married and fading together so that our families can at least enjoy our wedding, that special time in life, before we possibly loose them one day.

If you say that he no longer believes in God then it is likely that he has no desire to research religious or doctrinal points. To him it is all made up nonsense, so it really doesn't matter.

What is the current pulse in the organization with the reductions?
by SouthCentral ini have not seen jehovah’s witnesses in my neighborhood for several years now.
it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.
congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.

Not sure how it works in other halls but here the cart work is being done mostly by pioneers. If you're not a pioneer you can ask to be put on the schedule. I believe you still have to do some training on what to do and what not to do. Mostly though it seems to be the pioneers doing it after door to door for extra hours.

How many wrongs make a right?
by eyeuse2badub incame across this little gem while my wife was "digging for bible gems" in her weekly meeting preparation.
nothing new but i gently pointed it out to her as a reminder that bible reading can be hazardous to your mental health!.
do 2 (or 3, or 4) wrongs, make a right?
-
JW_Rogue
Yes, but spiritually he was forgiven and all was well. Plus, even though it says God did those things it evidently means God allowed those things to happen and didn't shield him from the consequences of sin.

The CO should probably not spend so much time noticing little girls

What JWs do right, and what they do wrong.
by pleaseresearch inso tonight i'm going to be having a chat with my brother and hes asked me what my thought are on the above question.. i could be wrong with what im about to say but i do think the door to door ministry is one thing they are doing right.
i think the cart work on the other hand is wrong.
just today i saw two sisters sat next to their cart with people going by.

The door to door ministry is extremely ineffective. Why waste time on doors where no one is home or they don't answer? Or you get people who take the literature but aren't really interested, then you waste more time making RVs on these people. The whole thing is a big waste of time.

Water on Mars (Possibly life)
by pleaseresearch inthis has been an interesting story in the news recently.. just thinking, if in a few years time they drill down and discover water on mars and also some form of life.
does that for you destroy the bible in anyway?.
-
JW_Rogue
'Life' elsewhere is probably one their most feared outcomes.
I think it would have to be some kind of intelligent life otherwise they just write a paragraph or two to explain it and keep going.

It should cause doubts because it supports the notion that life will evolve wherever the circumstances allow it to. JWs though would just dismiss it because it's microscopic bacteria and has no intelligence. They would say that somehow the bacteria must have traveled from Earth (where it was created) to Mars. Or they would say God created it there for some reason we don't yet understand.
