To an extent they have always built and sold KHs but this is a big push to sell off quickly. I think they see that some areas just aren't growing and it doesn't make sense to have 70 people in hall a that holds 200. This way they get an injection of cash and lower the expenses versus donations (because their are more people at each KH). Also, in the USA, the housing market has recovered and sellers can get top dollar for property.

Is the Sell-off of Kingdom Halls Just a Cyclical Process

greater emphasis on donating to build new kh's since some brothers have to drive long distances to attend meetings?
and that smaller communities should have a local kh that is visible to all in the area?.

More than that they showed that they don't really believe all the end time propaganda that they spew forth. They have been very quiet in WT lately regarding their condemnation of the UN. In their latest piece on "Gog of Magog" they say it represents a "Coalition of Nations" but do not refer to UN as they have in the past. Coincidence?

What was the EXACT exJW website you first visited and why EXACTLY did you visit it?
by ILoveTTATT2 ini had two episodes of visiting exjw websites:one time around 2007 when i just googled "jehovah´s witnesses" and dared to look at those sites.
i was scared and i promised myself i would never come back to them.
however, that one didn´t really count.the moment that woke me up was this:i got to know that whitney heichel was a jw and murdered by another jw, because i overheard that conversation in a kingdom hall.i looked up the news and in one of the news comments, there was one where an exjw was complaining that they were hijacking her funeral and they were really trying to downplay the fact that her murderer was a jw... and then it said "visit jwfacts.com"... which i did.and the rest... is history.what exactly got you onto an apostate website when you woke up?

The first sites I visited were archival sites that had old copies of WT publications like "Millions Now Living Will Never Die," I wanted to see what was really printed vs what WT always talked about. Then I checked out the UN stuff on JW facts I liked that all their stuff was backed up with sources you could examine yourself. Then I started browsing JWRecovery just to see other peoples unfiltered opinions (which you won't get at the KH). Finally, they shut down and I made an account here.
