  Personal thoughts and evaluations upon the Jehovah's Witnesses Organization

  from my own personal feelings about the jws when i was involved and i was brought up in the is religious practice from birth, was one of feeling of being lied to, exploited and manipulated to a certain extent.

  reflectively though i could see some wholesome social behavior direction being propagated not surprising nevertheless since this faith is based from christianity at its core.. where and how the wts/jws got bit corrupted i believe is that this organization has always had a publishing house and its core operation and supporting finances were mostly from that endeavoring operation.

  this also included creating doctrines which were to support and enhance the proliferation of those published works.

  I used to think that even if this was not the "truth" that living by JW principles would lead to happy life. Now I see that is just a line that they feed into your mind so you won't leave. Not only is it not the truth but it uses fear, guilt and shame to keep people in line. WT is essentially a propaganda machine. They aren't really truthful about anything. Sure some Bible principles are good and sound but the truth is you don't need to be a JW to live by them.

  They create rules that are not based on scripture but are based are trying to appear "different" to outsiders. Things like wearing business wear to meetings, being clean shaven and no tattoos or piercings aren't Biblical at all. And is it really true that every single holiday is objectionable? Even your own Birthday? No, it's another way you can be different and draw attention to the religion. The differences are actually there as a way to recruit more people.

  As others have said there is no real friendship in the org. This is also on purpose, members must be loyal to the org not to friends. Plus everyone is trying so hard not to appear "weak" that it is virtually impossible to get to know someone on more than a superficial level.

  Correlation decline JW numbers and JW broadcasting?

  i read some impressive figures here about the decline of the jw numbers in 2015.. could there be a correlation between this decline and the start of jw broadcasting?.

  hence, that there would be an negative impact because the gb is standing so nearby, you can experience the idiot reasoning of their doctrines sitting in your own living room?.

  I can't speak for JW Rogue but a David Splane moment that turned my stomach was when he "splained" the overlapping generation theory for the first time and said, "We LOVE this teaching!" I knew something was rotten in Denmark the moment he said that.

  I don't think he said that in this one that was at an AGM. What I thought was quite hilarious is when he goes to the story of the twelve tribes of Israel to try to redefine a common word. If you don't know what generation means then maybe try a dictionary. I noticed Splane likes to play the pseudo-intellectual egghead on JW Broadcasting. He also gave a talk without any Bible references to show that the FDS couldn't have existed until 1919.

  i was just thinking that the org has said lots of outrageous things over it's history and most jws just continue onward without a second thought.

  so my question is what do you think would have to be said from the platform or wt to get people to get up and walk out immediately?

  is it even possible?

  Tell them that they will grow old and die. Just like everybody else.

  Yeah, I think that or saying that everyone is going to heaven would do it. Maybe recalculating 1914 to 1934 with some reasoning on how 1934 was the real turning point in history. A new Revelation book would be great as I'm sure it would make even less sense than the first one.

  They have people believing that generations overlap for god sake.... There is nothing they can say that at least some wont follow.

  I disagree, no one actually believes it they are just going along with it. No one in my hall even mentioned Bro. Splanes explanation. The reason is that it makes no sense. I think most Witnesses wish that they would just stop talking about it. Splane thought by acting smart and trying to complicate a simple word definition he could fool people. It didn't happened.

  JW Broadcasting sure had that effect on me, seeing an actual Governing Body member spouting off nonsense really undermines the whole "God's Channel of Communication" thing. Nobody in my hall even talks about JW Broadcasting since the infamous David Splane episode. I think most are hoping it will go away. It is an embarrassment.

  " (1 pet 2:17) there may be a proper time and place for some actions that would be inappropriate at a christian meeting.

  (eccl 3:1) for instance, suppose someone sought to have all in a group link arms or hold hands during prayer.

  When there really is no scriptural reason for a rule they will always fall back on the "Someone might get stumbled" excuse. Meanwhile people who are actually stumbled by important things are told that they aren't spiritual enough and they need to "wait on Jehovah". You can't win, ever.

  The view is that we do not know, probably there is no life, but IF there is, then Earth would still be the most important place in Universe because it was here that God's Son died for mankind and this has importance for all the Universe. So the reply goes "perhaps, but it is of lesser importance to us".

  That explanation would work unless we found life that was similar to our own or more intelligent if that happened then that argument would fall flat.

  Is life the same as intelligent life? I believe that you are correct that the org has not addressed the possibly of "unintelligent" life on other planets.

  No, and they will not bring it up because it is an argument that they will lose. I'd love to see that in an Awake "Was it designed?...Bacteria On Mars" LOL They ignore a lot of things that don't fit with their agenda. Just the other day me and my wife were watching a documentary on the Atom Bomb. In it they talked about how the Earth is filled with Uranium. My wife commented "I wonder what God's purpose was in that" I just shrugged "Who knows? There must be a good reason, right?"
