Petition against MadJW
by brotherdan ini'd like to submit a motion that we no longer respond to posts posted by madjw.
he's using this forum to spam all of us into going to his wts defending website.
he also claims to be a regular pioneer and gets the majority of his time by posting on this site.

BD, I follow your passion not to aid in this joker's enterprise, but the simplest path is not to buy into it. Personally, I've never been to his site and have no plans on ever doing so. It isn't that I'm afraid of pro-WT propaganda; I hear plenty of it from the family I still have "inside". I just choose not to waste my time with it, like most people here, I imagine.
That being said, I am with you in spirit. The kid ain't the quickest guy off the blocks and he talks to himself an awful lot. I have more sympathy for him than angst. I mean, how can you feel anything but pity for someone so clueless and probably mentally-challenged? MadJW is like a retarded kid who doesn't know what he is and what his limitations are. As civilized peeps, we have to be generous and yielding to someone in his condition.

MadJW, so other churches teach God to be some "triune sadist" but yours teaches him to be some vengeful, bi-polar, manic-depressant, jealous nit-picker with a massive case of advanced senility combined with an inferiority complex?? Can you say pot, kettle, black?
And who said I believed in God?
Wake up, brother. See the truth instead of running from it. You might actually become likable.
Maybe.

They can dish it but JUST can't TAKE it!
Pathetic churchoids. I even FRELLY admit the stupid things my Brotherhood has said and done!
They can't STAND any kind of truth!
I think the MadJW is speaking about his religion in the third person. Sort of like an out-of-body experience. I'm all for not responding to his propaganda seeing how ridiculous it has been, but my newfound respect for freeness of speech and beliefs prevents me from such an absolutist ban on this moron. I still hold out hope that many more like him will leave that religion and it may be from something posted on this forum.
I can't forget how blind I was as a JW. And the MadJW is even more blind than that. Still, there's hope...

WT development of Disfellowshiping. (part 4; 1894 to 1919)
by Aussie Oz in......., the apostles language indicates that his case was not a hopeless one, asit would have been had the sinner transgressed.
against full light and knowledge, wilfully.
for the same apostle declares that such cannot be renewed unto repentance.-.

So far I've loved your laying out the development/evolution of the policy. Can't wait for the 1940s-1950s segment when they really pull an about-face.
Great posts, Oz!

An occasional cigar with a great bourbon. Leaving the WT has had its perks.

Can't wait to get hold of the PDF of this one. I agree with many others, that the new term will allow the elders to cast an even wider net of infractions for the friends. "Brazen" might even include riding roller coasters (disrespect for life) and drinking more than one cup of coffee (early signs of addiction).

JW view of the Bible vs WT publications
by brotherdan ini recently had an experience with my mother-in-law that really solidified what i had suspected about the jw claim to trust only in the bible.. my father-in-law was raised a witness, but never got baptized.
he eventually joined the army and served his country in vietnam.
after his tours of service he "came to his senses" and eventually got baptized as a jw.. fast forward to a few months ago.

As my papa once said, "They're the law." He was speaking of the GB in comparison to something I was showing him in the Bible.
Incredible. Do JWs follow the guidance as recorded in the Bible? Yes, but only if they first get permission from the GB.

Don't leave, its God's organization....
by dissed inrecently, i've been seeing this argument displayed here more frequently by those still believing jw's.. usually in reply to arguments they can not answer well, like 1914, generation(s), etc.... its almost like, they are are having serious doubts as well, but their fall back is, "but its god organization....where else would you go......don't leave, we are so close to the end".
as one recently shared their experience with a jc.
the elders, when feeling trapped on explanations, fell back to this defense.

As an elder once told me when trying to allay my concerns, "Just put blinders on. That way you will be forced to look straight ahead."
JWs have such tunnel vision, if their leaders came out tomorrow and said the 144,000 is a symbolic number, they would say, "That makes so much sense. I wonder why nobody ever thought of that before."
Then, the next day the GB would say, "Nope. Guess what? It really is literal. We were right all along." The dubs: "I knew they would change it back. You can surely see Jehovah's hand in that decision."
The next day the GB would say: "Actually it's both literal and symbolic." The dubs: "Score! This time they nailed it. This is surely new light from Jehovah."
The next day the GB would say: "We see that the 144,000 is clearly a mistranslation. The number is actually 1.44 million." The dubs: "Now we know why the number of partakers keeps going up. It just makes so much more sense now. What a privilege to be in Jehovah's organization."
Me:
