If Dawkins became a Ken Ham disciple tomorrow it would make not a jot of difference. The evidence for evolution needs no charismatic champions, its just objective reality - get over it

Sorry to hear that, same happened to me a few years ago, I ran over our 15 year old cat who had fell asleep in the engine bay. Feels horrible!

John Shelby Spong is a reasonable and intelligent christian. I highly recommend his book "Born of a woman" for an honest look at the church's view of women and the myth of the virgin birth in particular.

Disrespect of the Bible

i am going to get a lot of flack for this post, but i need to do it.

i want to preface this by saying that i don't judge any of you and i believe in the right of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, including your freedom to not practice one.. however, i'm finding a trend among some ex jws here.

notice the word "some".

Brotherdan do you accept that there are at least some ex-jws who know at least as much or more about the bible and the christian gospel as yourself and who have later rejected it based on full knowledge of the matter?

I know I have traveled that road and after 10 years of post-jw christianity came to the conclusion that it was a delusion just as the borg was.

If some people jump to that same conclusion in a heartbeat without examining the evidence fully I congratulate them on getting to there a lot quicker than me. Its just my personality that I had to work my way through it all for myself.

By the way any sentence that equates acceptance of the evidence for evolution with faith is not even wrong, but I think that is getting off topic?

20million is the latest estimate of protecting a man who ought to be served an arrest warrant for aiding and abetting child rape.. let's hope the government remember that public protest is still legal in the uk.

in george orwell's novel 'nineteen eighty-four' the capitulation of the principal protagonist is portrayed in his willingness to assent to the proposition that two and two make five.

once he had denied objective reality, his mental conquest was complete and he was no longer truly the master of his own mind.

nineteen eighty-four is in many ways, a very depressing read.. a charge commonly leveled at jehovah's witnesses is that the type of mind control envisioned by orwell has been and continues to be used on them.
