Eden One - Yes basically that is correct as I understand it. Life arose in an anaerobic world. Oxygen was a toxic waste product of photosynthesis by cyanobacteria. Lucky for us.

Update: Images Now Served in WebP Format
by Simon ini've pushed an update to the image handling so they are now served using the webp format if the requesting browser supports it.
currently that is chrome, opera and android mobile but safari is adding support in the next version and there's hope that firefox and edge will get on board soon.. read more about webp.
webp is a newer image format that can replace jpeg, gif and png but with much better compression rates for the same quality.

Eden - The atmosphere of the earth 4 billion years ago contained no oxygen therefore the composition of the oceans was also quite different. Modern vents are also teeming with existing lifeforms.
Life will not likely arise a second time on earth. However each of the steps to life is being investigated in labs all over the world.
For almost 2 billion years there were only morphologically simple pokaryotes. If life is discovered on other planets it will probably be bacterial.

Redpill the easiest source for information on phylogeny is probably Dawkins' "The Ancestors Tale".
Phylogenetic evidence can be found with a Google search and fossil evidence in Prothero's book.

Your confusion over the role of chance and you misunderstanding about "design" should be very easy to clear up. I think this is the woman who used to post here and on the JW-Support Forum.
I think she had an online conversation with Barbara Anderson and it turned out her memory of Bethel and some of the characters was suspect. If it is who I think it is she used to promote all sorts of woo on JWS.
