Eden One - Yes basically that is correct as I understand it. Life arose in an anaerobic world. Oxygen was a toxic waste product of photosynthesis by cyanobacteria. Lucky for us.
Vidqun - You are not in a position to be insulting anybody.
arguing with those who reject scientific evidence can be like arguing about football; just as angry and passionate, but the goalposts keep moving, and one team doesn't exist.. read more here....

Feel free to believe what you want - Vidqun
That is your problem right there. Choosing your beliefs is dumb.
Follow the evidence and your "beliefs" will take care of themselves. All of your objections to evolution are based on wilful ignorance.
You started with your superstitious conclusion.
i've pushed an update to the image handling so they are now served using the webp format if the requesting browser supports it.
currently that is chrome, opera and android mobile but safari is adding support in the next version and there's hope that firefox and edge will get on board soon.. read more about webp.
webp is a newer image format that can replace jpeg, gif and png but with much better compression rates for the same quality.
Thanks for the update!

Vidqun it is not unreasonable to expect a professional microbiologist to have a basic knowledge of science. On many occasions you have displayed a staggering ignorance of simple facts.

Eden - The atmosphere of the earth 4 billion years ago contained no oxygen therefore the composition of the oceans was also quite different. Modern vents are also teeming with existing lifeforms.
Life will not likely arise a second time on earth. However each of the steps to life is being investigated in labs all over the world.
For almost 2 billion years there were only morphologically simple pokaryotes. If life is discovered on other planets it will probably be bacterial.

Caedes yes Vidqun claims to be a professional microbiologist!

Redpill the easiest source for information on phylogeny is probably Dawkins' "The Ancestors Tale".
Phylogenetic evidence can be found with a Google search and fossil evidence in Prothero's book.

I also find it hard to connect the dots from sea creature to land creature back to sea creature
An excellent sequence of fossils illustrates the evolutionary journey of whales from land to sea...

Vidiot - it is impossible to have a reasonable conversation with you.
I don't know why you claimed to be a professional microbiologist when you lack knowledge of the most basic science.
Your confusion over the role of chance and you misunderstanding about "design" should be very easy to clear up. But we both know that any attempt to explain will result in more obtuse verbiage in reply. You have absolutely no interest in learning anything that challenges your religious superstitions.
Thank you for illustrating the OP so well...
i discovered this on youtube, it's quite recent:.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cam-nzcaa_q.
the woman's story sounds believable and credible, but i just don't know.
I think this is the woman who used to post here and on the JW-Support Forum.
I think she had an online conversation with Barbara Anderson and it turned out her memory of Bethel and some of the characters was suspect. If it is who I think it is she used to promote all sorts of woo on JWS.
