What an annoying voice. I would pay him $400 to stop talking.

What if Jesus Christ was not put to death by the Romans but instead died a natural death?
by deegee inaccording to christianity, the death of jesus was a miscarriage of justice.
so then, what if there was no so-called miscarriage of justice so that jesus was not put to death by the romans but he instead died a natural death?
would christians still receive the forgiveness of their sins and their hoped for salvation?.

According to Paul Jesus had to be crucified to take away the curse of the Law from the Jews.

According to christian dogma god required a human blood sacrifice as a vicarious punishment for the sins of all mankind (or just the elect if you are a Calvinist).

Hello
by UnshackleTheChains ini decided to join this forum as have been lurking awhile.
there are lots of interesting topics on here that appeal to me.. i have been a witness for almost 3 decades and am very disillusioned with the organisation at this time.
i am beginning to see it in a new light as i am getting older.

Hello and welcome to the forum. There are so many who have been JWs for a long time who are disturbed by the direction the organisation is taking. Refuse to be cowered by their manipulation any longer.

Science my son and I.
by The Rebel ina recent o.p origins of the universe bought home to me with ovbious clarity that i have no scientific background.
this realization was rather embarrassing for myself to admit, particularly as my child of 11 has began asking some rather intersting questions on scientific matters.
anyway i have subscribed to " scientific america" because i find it a great magazine for those with no scientific background.

after reading his books we realize that there were/are more controlling groups than Jehovah's witnesses. - Ruby
I could list dozens of cults and I have never read his books.
as to his motivations - I agree that they are probably based on a desire to help people rather than to fleece people.
He charges $400- an hour for a chat. How much would a "counselor" have to charge before you might question his motives?

we'd charge what the market would bear and not think twice about it.
Not me.

Still all this black-and-white argument going on.
Of course he deserves to earn a living.
$400 per hour to chat is a reason to question motives. The more somebody charges the more people are apt to assume it must be very special.
I have never read his books but I am already an expert on how cults control people. Most of us here know as much about the psychology of cults as any "counselor".

So what? And can't it be both wealth and helping people?

I am constantly AMAZED and AMUSED by the number of whining freeloaders who think everything should be given to them for free. They expect boneless BBQ'd chickens to fly into their mouths!
Well, time to pay the piper, crybabies! FREEDOM ain't FREE! - NNI am constantly bemused by the constant barrage of strawman arguments on this forum. Does anybody care about accurately understanding the position of the person they disagree with?
Nobody has suggested that Hassan should offer anything for free.
He is an ex-Moonie and a "counselor". His market is vulnerable and distraught people who despair for their relatives who are members of a cult. He charges $400 per hour for a skype call.
It is not unreasonable to suggest that his main motivation might be wealth. It appears that not a few people are blindly following the maxim that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".
