For the third time no it isn't.

He has stated clearly - including in the latest video I posted - that he has no problem addressing a transgender person as he or she according to their preference.

SBF did not "nail it". He also misrepresented Peterson's position - straw man.

To assert that issues that don't concern you should be dismissed because, in your opinion x or y is a bigger issue is not an argument.

As I said earlier, yes I read it weeks ago.

I would also refuse to use made-up pronouns. Don't pander to people's delusions. Students should be challenged to grow up not codelled.

I did not say that I refuse to use Ms. I said - "I have never referred to anybody as Ms in my life, I have also never referred to a man as Mx and never will."

That is exactly what transgender people are saying about this issue. The 0.3% who have gender dysphoria want to be accepted as male or female. We should of course accommodate that

The far bigger group who flounce around demanding to be called Zi etc are poseurs. Their position is based on the nonsense that gender is a social construct and they can choose from an ever-expanding menu of options and change their mind again next week - and everybody else MUST play along.

I already said that transgender people "should be treated with dignity and respect". However I can understand why, for example an employer might not want to hire a man with gender dysphoria for certain jobs within their business.

A biological man in a dress at a reception desk might not be the image a company wants.

(Normal world:) "Sorry. The GENTLEMAN in the back"
(Petersons world:) "I REFUSE to pander to your Marxist ideology!" (Black helicopters swoop in and Jordan Peterson is taken to room 101).

From what I have heard of Peterson you have totally misrepresented his position. If a transgender person wants to be known as he or she he would have absolutely no problem with that. Neither would I.

Yes i read it weeks ago and listened to Peterson's analysis of it.

I think that men and women should enjoy equal rights. That is already the case in most (non-Muslim majority) countries.

I have no idea what it would mean to make "gender identity" a protected class. There are only two sexes. About 0.3% of people have gender dysphoria. I think they should be treated with dignity and respect.

bohm - Perhaps it will turn out that you are right and Peterson's understanding of the law is wrong. I reserve judgement but I am very interested in following the debate.

If it is true that a university professor can be in legal trouble for declining to pander to special snowflakes who demand to be referred to as Zi and Hir then it's a very bad law.
