False dichotomy - "Random chance" is not the alternative to intelligent design.
When somebody discovers that their beliefs are false I think it is normal to assume hopefully that at least their most core beliefs are true.
It takes time and courage to hold everything up to honest scrutiny. I'm always a bit puzzled by anybody who goes straight from JW to unbeliever. Did they ever actually believe?

an experienced j w of my acquaintance , who had best be nameless, urged me to watch this t v programme because it "proves the society were right all along in warning of the dangers of blood.. well, yes , it does in a way demonstrate that the potential dangers of blood products was not fully recognized.
in particular this is shown in respect of the aids/hiv virus which was a new threat when it occurred.. there were some important points deliberately ignored by my dub associate , though :.
Blood transfusions have risks - in other news the Pope has confirmed he is a Catholic.
JWs do not refuse blood for medical reasons but for reasons related to their religious superstitions. If blood was 100% safe they would still let their children die.

I just think it's worth pointing out that karma is based on Buddhist bullshit. Of course there are valuable insights that to be gained as I said in my first post.

Karma is not about reciprocity or positive feedback. It is a supernatural belief in a fundamental justice in the universe. It is a new-age religion rooted in Buddhism. Don't blame me for pointing out that fact.

Number 1 is nonsense. There is no unseen judge balancing the scales. Do good because that is the sort of world you prefer to live in. Don't expect rewards or retribution.
