believing in God in some sense is an acknowledgement of the limits of human understanding.
Which makes the word 'god' utterly devoid of substance.

it all boils down to the idea that the universe springs from the mind of God - SBF
'God' is a placeholder for 'I don't have a clue'.
if somebody knocks on your door and wants to enter your home (for whatever reason) you are faced with a decision process based, in part, on your ability to suss out why you do or do not allow entrance.. agreed?example:.
"i'm being stalked by a madman--please let me hide inside" would be a strong emotional reason.
""i'm with a group of jehovah's witnesses, we want to brainwash you.
'Our history of genocide'?
What did I do or what did my parents or my children do so that we owe a debt to the rest of the world?
Self-loathing is a plague that threatens our way of life.
just wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).
with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.
It's crazy never to go back. - SBF
Take me with you! Are you going back to the meetings? I've been thinking about going back for good I have to admit it. Once you know the truth you can't shake it off. - SBF 14 days ago
What happened in the last fortnight?
about a type of cult - not religious.
just a movie.
however, about had several earmarks of a cult.
We go to the cinema quite frequently and I would have to say 'Get Out' was one of the most disappointing films of last year. It is basically a satirical commentary on the reverse-racism of liberal, middle-class America.
It was clearly going to get nominated by the virtue-signalling sycophants of the Academy.
yesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.
we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.
they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.
i attended my first jw meeting recently.
first, i would like to say what i agree with about the jehovah's witnesses beliefs and practices.. 1. they don't consider israeli's as "god's chosen people" and they don't worship israel as some holy land filled with righteous jews (although there are some there) as most so-called "christians" (christian zionists) erroneously believe they are instead of the "hypocrites" and "vipers" that it is actually filled with.. 2. they don't celebrate "holidays" like easter and christmas which are, in fact, remnants of earlier pagan practices.. 3. they don't put nation before god and christ.
they don't believe in war or going to war because of some crazy government/cia secret agenda.
I would like to say what I agree with about the Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs and practices
...and Mussolini made the trains run on time.
not being a witness has been a plus for my sex life.
.
what about you!
Go Stan!
so, apparently, there is an organization which provides structure, curriculum, etc.
for home-schooling of jw kids:.

Very fair comment ^^^
The website stresses that they are not about homeschooling. They pretend to be a real school where every child's home is a campus.
The standard of the information on the website is dreadful. It looks like the whole project is completely amateur.

I browsed their website; it is appalling!
Here is a comment - I presume from one of the parents - who ironically calls themself 'top au writers'. What chance do these children have?
